The song was sung by the main character and a teenage girl. The lyrics begin with "I am an old woman." It goes on to say, "My old man is another child who has aged." Any ideas would be helpful. Don't make the mistake of reading more into something than is actually there. For those people who get defensive, or condemn, or lash out at another who simply asks about anything, relating directly to them or not, get over yourselves. It is simply information gathering. Why get angry and judge those you say are judging over a simple question. There are valid reasons to get bothered beyond a question someone you don't even know has asked. Try some objectivity, or consider the numerous possible reasons one may have for asking something,

Is it so difficult to stand back and consider what has been asked or said without interjecting one's own ego into the mix? Don't people realize they are saying a whole lot more about themselves than actually stepping back and looking at the larger picture?

I don't understand the mentality behind the thought that after marriage what was not acceptable before now will be.

If he said things to her he never said to you, like "I miss your pretty face" and "am going to show up there some day and surprise you...hmmmmm wonder what we'd talk about", how would you interpret that?
