  • Why did the doctors scale say I weigh more than I do?

    I'm 5'6 and a half. I wear a size 27 waist jeans and the scale said I weigh 160 pounds? This doesn't really Make sense to me. When i gained a lot of weight from medicine I took, I weighed 149 and thought that was a lot. But 160? How does this make sense. I ate a large bowl of soup like an hour ago but still...seems fishy. Any advice?

  • Still haven't gotten my period after taking Plan B!!! PLEASE HELP!!!?

    Okay i had unprotected sex very late on a friday night and then took Plan B on sunday morning. I was ovulating while I had the unprotected sex and I should have gotten my period several days ago. I am starting to freak out. Is it normal for a period to be late after taking Plan B??? I am WAY too young to be pregnant and I never ever have unprotected sex. Should I be concerned? Please help me! ( I was having discharge and ovulation like symptoms up until like yesterday, too )

    i have really bad acne on my forehead. you can visibly see my huge pores, some blackheads, and new pimples (with the preexisting ones) forming. It is so bad and embarrassing. I have been on prescription pills such as cefadroxil, actaclate, and doxcylcine. None of them have worked at all. What do I do?! i have also been on 3 topicals that have done absolutely nothing. I am freaking out and I need to go back to the dermatologist again but he's just gonna prescribe me another pill that doesnt work. What do i do?! Please please help

  • If I do this, will I be able to lose the weight?! Someone please help!!!?

    So basically, a couple years ago I was anorexic. I still ate a considerable amount but I just ate so much before that, that the weight slid right off. Whatever so at a point during my anorexia I ate a normal, healthy amount, got my period back, and was still pretty skinny. I still wasn't happy so I just stopped eating. This really screwed with my metabolism and ever since then I've been on a roller coaster of eating and then not eating. During this whole time I've remained pretty active, as I run and lift weights daily. I got back from college in the middle of May when I decided that this summer was the time I am going to get my body healthy again. When I got home, I started eating a couple hundred more calories than my BMR, which is 1400. So, usually I'm consuming 1500 or 1600 (even after I exercise and such). I have probably gained a couple pounds but not that much really. (I went from eating about 800 calories to probably double) I've been doing this healthy routine for about 6 weeks now. I wanted to keep it going for another 6 and then maybe start to lose weight. I have put on 10 pounds throughout this whole process of messing with my metabolism. I am not happy with it at all and with my measurements, I can 100% lose 10 pounds and still be healthy. I am 5'6" and weigh about 142 pounds. So, by August, is it okay to start increasing cardio and cut my calories to around 1200 or so? I need to lose the 10 pounds but my metabolism has to be okay, too! Please help!!

  • Question about losing weight??? Someone please help me!?

    Okay so basically I have messed up my metabolism. I have been doing this for a while. Ever since I overcame anorexia a couple years ago, I have slowly put on a weight due to the fact that I wont eat, and then will and I just kept the weight on because of my slow metabolism. I got back from college in the middle of may and ever since then I have been eating my BMR which is 1,400 calories. I have been working out 5-6 times a week doing mostly muscle training and lifting weights, with some cardio. Some days I do eat more than 1,400, though. I just want to lose about 10 pounds before I get back to school because I'm never usually this weight. When is it safe to start cutting back calories a little so I can lose the weight? I don't want to start too quickly because I fear that my metabolism isn't stable just yet. Any advice? Thanks!! And by the way i am an 18 year old female, 5'6" and around 142 pounds

  • Why am i getting pounding headaches so often??

    This started a little over a week ago. I woke up with the most painful headache around the front of my forehead and temples. Every time the advil or ibuprofen wore off, the headache would come back and be just as painful. It's especially bad in the early hours of the morning (waking me up due to pain). I'm a healthy and normal 18 year old girl. I really think something is wrong at this point. I'm done growing and all so it has nothing to do with that. Should I seek medical advice from my doctor? I'm actually kind of nervous at this point because this has NEVER happened to me before--and for such a long time. Please help!! Thank you

  • Why did i stop losing weight?! PLEASE HELP?

    okay so i was in a re feeding mode for a while after i realized i wasn't eating enough. i slowly worked up to 1400 calories, where i stopped gaining weight, and maintained my weight. i decided that it was long enough that i had these 10 gross pounds on my body, so i did a lot of research and everything said that decreases calories by 500 each day, will result in a 1 pound weight loss per week.

    i lost the water weight from the re feed, but nothing more. my BMR is 1,400 and so between working out and exercise i have a net of 900-1,000. on the weekends i eat 1,400-1,500.

    i have prom really soon and summer is coming up and i literally cannot gain any more weight and need to lose this weight. what can i do to lose the 10 pounds?!

    5'5" 1/2, i think i'm somewhere around 136 pounds...i used to be 124!!! please help me

    and yes i work out everyday with cardio and weights. PLEASE HELP ME!

  • How can i re-lose all the weight I had to gain?

    so on january 1st, i made a new years resolution to get my normal eating habits back. i slowly decreased my cals and then i eventually got around to 0 net calories a day. (would eat around 600 but would burn everything off). i've increased my calories 100-150 every week. ive gained an insane amount of weight. i am now at 1400 calories and have been eating this way for about a month.

    i really want to lose some of this extra fat i've gained. how can i do it in at timely manner because shorts season is coming around and would really like to wear my old stuff. (when i wasn't eating i wasn't that thin because my metabolism crashed)

    i run track everyday after school and i eat extremely healthy. my goal is 2 pounds a week and 1400 is my BMR. please help!!! thanks!

    so i used to eat ZERO net calories per day! (i would eat then burn them all off)

    i successfully worked my way back up to my BMR! (1400 cals)....hooray

    so, i gained soooo much weight while doing this. when will some of the water weight/excess weight put on come off? i run track everyday and eat a wide variety of healthy foods.

    also, i am eating 1400 net calories. so lets say i burn 200 cals at track, i would have eaten 1600, then burned 200. i've been slowly increasing until i got to 1400, and i've been eating 1400 for about 2.5 weeks. thanks!

    okay so it isn't really a diet but i don't know what else to call it...

    i'm basically in the process of re-stabilzing my metabolism because i was eating 0 calories a couple months ago blah blah blah. so now i'm up to about 850 calories per week. (i increase by 150 each week).

    i ate 850 calories after dinner and was content. then, i don't know what happened...i PIGGED out on cereal. like cap'n crunch, froot loops, and some apple jacks. i'm not sure how much i had exactly but it wasn't like half a box it was just a lot....i think. i felt sooo bad because i know i really can't go over 850 right now because my metabolism is so weak and fragile, and i especially shouldn't have eaten sugary carbs!! that's the worst of all. so, i sprinted to the gym which is a little under 1/2 (0.4 miles exactly) mile away and then i burned 362 calories on the treadmill and then i ran back home, another 0.4 mile away (did not run as fast).

    i got home and did intense house work like carrying up cases of water bottles from the garage upstairs and then unpacking them in the fridge, i vacuumed, and then ran up and down the stairs for 2 minutes very quickly. is it good that i did this? i still feel SOO guilty about the cereal because i had such a healthy day and my metabolism does not just burn things off because it's so bad right now...it holds on to everything.

    did me working out help the cereal situation or is all the damage done? please help thank you!!!! and do not write about how me eating 850 calories and working my way up is bad. not its not. my doctor said this is what i should do.

    so i'm working my way back up to 1,400 calories. right now i'm at 850. increase by 150 per week. i've gained sooooo much weight because i was eating zero calories and i'm now increasing them. i'm nervous that once i eat 1,400 for 2 weeks or so, that i won't lose this water weight or any excess weight i gained throughout this.

    by the way, when i was eating zero calories, i was an average weight...my metabolism was just so slow and messed up that i was scared to eat anything.

    so, will i lose the water weight and shed these gross pounds after eating and exercising normally? please help!! (i've gained like 15 pounds and i'm so bloated all the time!!)

  • Can I drink water or tea after taking a laxative?

    My doctor told me to take a laxative because I have been constipated. I am taking a few carts as the bottle instructs to. I just took them but I am very thirty. Will drinking water or tea prevent the laxative from working? Thanks!
