Travel websites can provide separate bookings for flights, accommodation and car rental as well as travel packages (for instance a travel package to New York inclusive of flight and hotel booking). They claim that a travel package is cheaper than arranging for the same trip by making separate bookings for flight, hotel and eventually car rental. In you experience is this true, i.e. are travel packages cheaper?

I believe the booking sites make it a bit difficult to understand what the final cost of a booking is, you need to nearly complete the booking process before all the costs come out and add up to the total cost (sometimes even after booking you are left with "other fees that hotel may charge" but without a clear idea what this is about).

It would be much easier if by selecting the room and dates you would get the final price before starting to input you name, etc.. It would make much easier and less time consuming to compare costs between different booking sites, do they want it?

Do you? And what is your approach to hotel reviews (can you share any tips, hotel review site or ways to differentiate between true and fake reviews)
