  • Tokina 16-28 vs Nikon 17-35?

Just purchased a Nikon D600 and need something on the wide end. Can't afford the 14-24mm right now, but want to purchase a wide angle lens that can also double as a walk around. I just switched from DX to full frame. Used to have the tokina 11-16 and it was one of my favorite lenses, but didn't get as much use as I wanted. So was thinking with the longer 35mm I can use that along side of my 50mm 1.4, 85mm 1.4, and 80-200.

  • Infocus IN5314 good home projector?

Projector MSRP's at $3500, but was able to win it for under $1,000 on ebay. My main intention for the projector is for gaming and watching movies. I'm afraid the projector might have to be placed too far to get the image size that I want. How would this compare to other projectors such as the Acer 5360 and Optoma gt750e which are considerably less in price, but seem to have better specs in contrast and number of colors?

  • How much weight can the second floor of a newly built home support?

I have 10 arcade machines that I would like to put in a loft on the second floor I imagine them being close to 300 pounds each, but I'm worried if the floor can support the weight because there are bedrooms underneath. I am worried that it may come crashing thru. Am I worrying for nothing? I see a lot of contemplating answers on other sites. Thanks!

  • Is a Yamaha Clavinova CVP-700 a good choice for a piano?

I'm a beginner piano player and was originally looking for an acoustic baby grand piano, but stumbled upon a CVP700 for what seems to be a great deal and more affordable for me. I know that it is digital and not an acoustic, but am wondering if I will regret my choice later on. Also when I google more information on it reviews are scarce and am wondering what a good price for it? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!

  • Nikon do it all lense?

Looking for a do it all lense for my nikon d300? Looking for a midrange zoom w/ macro capabilities w/ f 2.8. So far all I could find is the 24-85mm f 2.8-4 or the sigma 17-70mm. Some forums they say the nikon 24-85 is too soft tho so seeing if there is something better. I want to use the lense as my walk-around lense for trips and also have it be good enough for low light (for weddings). Does such a lense exist?

  • What Nikon lense set would you say is best for weddings?

I currently own a nikon d90. I have a 35mm f 1.8 and an 85mm f 1.4. Looking to add a mid, and a telephoto zoom. I know the 24-70 and 70-200 are the standards, but at this point I cant afford both so looking for the best alternative. With my budget I can get a Nikon 28-70mm and an 80-200mm used both f 2.8 or the sigma 24-70 and 70-200 sigma brand new? If not these lenses what would you suggest?

  • Please suggest Swing/Salsa Songs to DJ?

Hi, I'm Djaying a party tomorrow for an older crowd (everyone is in their late 40's-50's) . I'm trying to put together a playlist that consist of 60's and 70's music that includes Disco, Swing, and Salsa music. I'm more of a hip hop dj so this type of music isn't my forte. I only agreed because it was a favor to a friend. Can you guys suggest songs for each category. I'm pretty much covered on the Disco...but swing and salsa I'm lost. I just want the crowd to be on their feet the entire night having a good time. If you have any song suggestions that are upbeat or if you can point me to a website or DJ videos I would much appreciate it. Thanks!

  • Motorized Sliding Door?

HI, just wanted to see if anyone could help me with this. With the entertainment center I am building I'm trying to motorize the doors and just make them open and close by a remote. Where one door would open and move left while the other to the right..kinda like this.. <---{ I I ] --- > ..sorry don't know exactly how to ask this because I've seen the tv lift, but that's not what I'm trying to do. I just recently bought a projector and I thought it would be cool to have the sliding doors of an entertainment center conceal a screen that would open/close on command..thanks for the help!

  • Built a computer and when I connected it to a monitor it says "check connection" what should i do?

I have been trying to put together a computer, bought all the parts, put it all together, but when I connect it to a monitor it says "check connection" and I guess it is receiving no signal. I cannot reach the BIOS screen at all. My monitor just displays that message and goes to powersave mode. I have tried everything suggested, unplugging the RAM, unplugging the video card and putting it back. I have checked my connections over and over and can't find out what's wrong. All parts were bought brand new on Newegg. This is the first computer that I have built so I'm new..just wanted to see if I can get any help. Thanks in advance..

    Details of my build:

    Asus p5w DH deluxe motherboard

    Intel quad core q6600 2.40ghz

    Corsair Dominator 4gb DDR2 RAM (4 single)

    Rosewill 550w power supply

    Phillips 20x DVD+-

    Seagate 500gb Harddrive
