Can I use a 2g mobile in Australia?
I am looking for a new pink mobile which doesn't have to do anything except let me make and take calls, send and receive sms and have a calendar and address book. I have really no need for apps, games or polyphonic ringtones. Ideally I'd like a clamshell but would consider one of those flat screen ones.
I am NOT one to live on the phone. In fact, I can go days without using one quite happily.
Most of the pretty phones I have looked at are all 2G but no 3G or 4G connectivity. If I bought a phone with just 2G connectivity, would I still be able to use it in Australia?
I am also looking for a prepaid unit but would consider a plan. Can anyone advise of any decent plans they've heard of? I find the whole comparison very daunting and confusing and I just walk away more clueless than I was to begin with.
Advice is greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Cell Phones & Plans8 years agoGood program for basic website?
I am trying to set up a website and unfortunately my Dreamweaver Studio program is no longer supported by Adobe who have taken them over. This means I cannot install the program on my laptop nor run it. In effect the whole Studio is useless to me unless I wish to pay copious amounts of money to upgrade each component to it, which I do refuse to do.
I am therefore looking for a suitable alternative. It needs to be clear, simple and able to produce a basic website which can direct the user to several pages, incorporate logos and provide a contact page link so that people can reach me.
I have already looked at Webplus but determined that it will not be suitable for my needs. Does anyone know of any other cheap or free programs that might be suitable?

Hey folks
I am researching a phenomena known as Munchausen by Internet. It is a condition whereby people create illness to garner attention, support, act out anger or to control others. Most commonly it is done in chat rooms and on message boards.
The kind I am most interested in is people who seem to have many friends to talk for them, are always in crisis, have fantastic stories (often simply outrageous) of things that occur to them, perhaps even fake sickness or death of a loved one in order to have everyone pay attention to them.
I have outlined two cases on my blog already, ( see entries Disclosure and Deja Vu at http://pepstalk.spaces.live.com/ ) to give you some idea what I'm talking about. I would appreciate hearing of experiences of others to build up a wider picture of this phenomenon.
I am especially interested in what things did not 'add up' and what led you to come to the conclusion they were lying.
I am happy to have replies here, or to have them emailed to me directly so that I can contact you should I need more information. Alternatively, you can leave a comment on my blog or contact me via there.
This is one nasty beast worthy of investigation and I appreciate your time and trouble in helping me research it.
Cheers
