I have four step-kids and they all destroy their toys the ages are 6,7,9 and 10. three boys with the oldest being a girl. I cleaned their rooms and found so much broken toys even in my girls room. I was devastated as some of the toys broken were mine I had when I was her age. I treasured my toys. When I was her age a arm fell off my gymnastic barbie and fell into my mothers garden I cried so much my brother spent hours to find it.

in her room I found that same doll with both arms missing. I asked her dad if he was destructive as a child, he said no as he had to buy all his toys, I was given all mine (I was spoilt :) ) but I treasured them, I still have a stuffed toy I had been given when I was 6 (making him 20 years old :) I took fluffy everywhere with me (even threw up on him numerous times I was never very good at travelling distances in the car) Any ideas why?

My step daughter is in year 5 and until now she was able to hide from her father and me that she was failing school (straight d's)

A little background Her father and I got custody from her biological mother last year they've had a full year in school with us (last year her grades were b's and c's). This year those have dropped significantly, she even lied to me about being bullied at school, I raised the concerns with her teacher who kept a close eye on her and he advised me she is the one being provocative, hitting boys and when they hit her back she tells on them. I'm at a lost on what to do,

I've always made myself available to her as a friend and a mother. I personally feel manipulated and hurt that she pushed me and lied to me about being bullied (she knows I was bullied and physically hurt when at school and I will not stand for it) My partner is in the army but since coming back from overseas where he contracted Malaria (almost died from it) he sleeps alot so I tend to help with homework and all other things, and still work and look after her and her three brothers...

I feel this is an attention seeking behaviour but how can I give her more attention? I already give her enough and her biological mother she contacts her (and only her) by text message (as she gave a ten year old a mobile phone for her birthday which I think is ridiculous! She gets so much love and attention I'm at a loss... why did she lie to me?

Everyone says she is such a pretty girl (god's honest truth she could be a model!) but she is being so manipulative like her mother. Any ideas?

oh my god, I had a dream the other night about a female character in an anime and I cannot remember where she comes from for the life of me, I do remember what she looks like though. I've been working for 8 months now at a retail "giant" anyway, I'm older then most of the "kids" working there. I'm in to the shorter 50's style/pinup style. The colours I'm wanting to use is, cream, gold, champagne, and red.

The thing is my partner doesn't want to wear a suit or a tux and I'm coming up short on ideas for what he could wear. I really don't want him doing the jeans thing... but I suppose if it was done tastefully I could go with that,

How embarrasing, I got my period the other day, and now I've pooped myself twice... sadly once infront of the jehovah witnesses that came around to talk about god. In the few months he has been with us, we have gotten him into a great school and he has made TREMENDOUS leaps and bounds but he is still having issues with counting and the alphabet I have made a sign for him with the alphabet and he loves looking at it before bed. but I want to do a song about counting and the alphabet as well for him... but sadly I am having issues working out how to do a counting song.

I want the song for him to be something that naturally occurs for example we have two eyes, ten toes (blah blah) but certain numbers (i.e three) I can't seem to find anything for...

Has anyone else had this issue and had to teach a late bloomer (his real mum just let him play call of duty ... he can kick my butt on call of duty but I can barely understand his speech... and he thinks counting is 1 3 6 7... etc. )

My partner and I just took custody of his four kids due to the rockhampton floods where they lost everything... we got them all into School, I had a job and I was good at it too. but taking the kids to school made me 5-15minutes late everyday I asked if I could start later and they said sure but they kept rostering me for earlier shifts... well last week I lost my job.

I couldn't believe it, I'd done so much right by them and they did nothing right by me.

I'm 25 with four kids and no job. If I could I'd love to work from home, I was working in a call centre, I have excellent typing skills, internet connection and a home phone. I have a sales background (though I'd prefer not to go back into sales) I type at around 54wpm. I've surfed the net this morning looking for jobs from home and they all seem to be scams, pay this much and you'll get millions!!

Seriously if I could do some kind of data entry or customer service from home and get paid $10+ per hour I'd be happy.

I've just been given two oscars and I know nothing about fish, my partner is gonna love them when he gets back (which is in three weeks) but I'm worried the bigger oscar everytime I walk past opens his mouth REALLY wide. I've hidden myself just to make sure he's not doing it constantly but he closes him mouth when I'm not in the room or sitting quietly on the couch.

I've got seven little fish in there for their din dins... but their not eating them.
