I'm traveling tomorrow morning on the dutchflyer via Harwich to Hoek van Holland. I know that I can drink on the rail to Harwich. I'm pretty sure you can't drink your own alcohol on the Ferry, is this correct? Also, would I be able to bring unopened alcohol onto the ferry for the purpose of drinking when I reach Holland?

Also, I know the tickets include rail to sail to rail, but if my destination requires I connect via bus from the train station, is that included in the dutch flyer ticket?

So I'm designing a double pipe Heat Exchanger that needs to cool Engine Oil.

Here's what I know:

The oil is starting at about 95C and needs to be cooled to about 75C, roughly a 20C drop in temperature.

The mass flow rate of the oil is roughly 500 kg/hr.

I'm using Schedule 40 1/2" Steel Pipe. OD=.840" ID= .622"

I'm using water as the coolant, it will be at 25C

The velocity of the water is about 1m/s, and of the oil about .5 m/s

About what length should I make it? Any tips?

I'm trying to upgrade my bedroom at my apartment to be more guest friendly, and have more conversation pieces. Here's what I'm doing so far.

My bed is lofted. From an extra spot on the loft I'm mounting a 8 ft wave slide from a swing set. Additionally, I'm hanging one, maybe two, swings from the ceiling for a unique feel.

Two love seats are positioned optimally for a combination of space and mobility.

A small desk area for my computer and etc. is going to be under the slide, in a bit of a private way.

My room also already a really cool bar set up.

My poster/wall decoration situation is all set also.

What I really want to bring it all together though is a water feature. Something to make people go "ooooh" "ahhh" "Thats so cool." I'm an engineer so I'll build it myself, but I don't really know what I want.

Should I build one into a cool custom table? Or should I do a little water curtain of the end of my bar?

I'm open to the craziest and wackiest of ideas. I really like theconcept of a waterwall, but I don't have room really.

If you have any other non-water related ideas, I would like to hear those too.

Last year, I was diagnosed with "significant symptoms of depression" after having known so for a few years. Recently, through my own research, I have come to believe that it's actually Generalized Anxiety Disorder, which then, shows symptoms of depression in tests.

I was prescribed a daily dosage of a generic SSRI that's similar to Zoloft. I used it for about two and a half months, with pretty limited effects. (For those curious, SSRI's are prescribed for both anxiety and depression, so its not like I was taking the wrong meds). After two months passed and I felt just as screwed as before, so I stopped taking the meds. (I have had a few talk therapy sessions, but most LICSW's are full of ****, so I don't even bother anymore)

About a month after I stopped taking them, a close friend got me into smoking weed recreationally to the point where I consider myself a habitual smoker now. The reason I smoke so much is because I feel like the process of smoking and the high it gives slows me down enough to the point whereI'm in control of my thoughts which sometimes feels like it isn't the case.

When I visit my doctor for my physical in a couple weeks, and he asks about the medication, should I tell him I stopped taking it, and that I smoke regularly as a substitute?

I still go to my pediatrician for yearly physicals, and am on my parents health insurance (I'm 19, so I am an adult capable of making my own decisions). I'm not in a MMJ state (voting this fall on it), but it is decriminalized. I know I have doctor-patient confidentiality, but I don't know if I should.

Save me the "quit smoking" shtick, I'm not going to. I like it, and it makes me happy so **** off.

There's this girl. Her name is Sarah. I met her June 8th of this year through a mutual friend. On the evening we met we were drunk and we hooked up. I ended up getting her number and we texted pretty consistently there after. She has had a pretty busy summer thus far, spending a good deal of time away from home. Now, conventional wisdom would say, this girl doesn't like you, forget her. But, whenever shes talking to just me, she is always reassuring me about how she likes me, this and that.

I leave to go back to college on Thursday. She leaves to start her college, the first week of September. Before I go, I'd like her to know how I feel. I'm crazy about this girl. I cant get her out of my head. I think she has the most beautiful personality. she is always fun to be around, easy to talk to (I told her things I had never told anyone before) and boy, is she gorgeous.

I was thinking about writing her a letter telling her how I feel. Maybe just having her over, and telling her all this. but then when I think about it, I believe more and more that its a bad idea because I don't want to seem clingy. My options are basically, tell her now, and hope she doesn't reject me. Or wait til I come home on winter break and try again, since shell have had more time from the breakup.

Claude needs to swallow his pride and play Tyler Seguin on the third line with Chris Kelly and Rich Peverley when Bergeron comes back. Scratch Daniel Paille and make the fourth line Campbell-Ryder-Thornton.

I've said from the beginning that Tyler Seguin is the single most offensively gifted player (except maybe Horton) on the roster. That was demonstrated by the goal he had last night. I love the way Krejci, Lucic, and Bergeron play the game but none of them could have found the ice the way he did. The kid has Savard like passing abilities and is one of the few finishers they've got. He can cure the powerplay woes of the team by simply quarterbacking it. He has the natural ability to find space and control himself.

So why won't Claude let this kid run his game?

BQ: What are the thoughts on Kaberle?

My take on that is that everyone seems to be all over him for underproducing but I really think Chiarelli would be making a mistake letting him walk in the offseason. The Bruins defensive corps isn't a championship look with Chara by itself. They're just the big, hulking presence that'll produce in the regular season but doesn't win championships. With Kaberle, Seidenberg, and Kampfer the Bruins have a foil to the Boychuk and Chara look which is a much better setup for a deep playoff run. Look at past Cahmpionship contenders, they can always move the puck. Lidstrom, Pronger and Keith all can spearhead a breakout unlike Chara can. And Kaberle can really move the puck, I think he's struggled (much like Seguin) due to lack of repetition and being misplaced in Claude's outdated system. Kaberle really has the abilities to succeed but I think it's Claude's doing that's hindered him.

But I'm only one person, thoughts?

How fortunate is Boston that Vancouver didn't close in five and that Detroit-San Jose went Seven. Now they start on Saturday and get an extra day off between Games 1 and 2. So much extra time to get Bergeron back on the ice. I;m happy the kid, Tyler Seguin still gets his chance to prove himself though. Julien should sit Paille and dress Seguin then he can regularly run that fourth line.

A friend of mine was told by his school principal that the cops would be arriving at this house on Friday because they had suspicion there would be a party. He plans to have people over but there will be no drinking, no illicit substances, and probably the only thing wrong will be the noise.

My question is what precautions should he take in order to prevent police from entering his home?

Do all the doors need to be locked, or just closed? What about the slider onto his back deck, can they legally be on the deck?

And the garage, if the garage door is open, but the door from the garage to the house is locked, is it still consent to enter the house or just the garage. What if they find old bags of empty beer cans from his dad, is that reasonable suspicion?

Finally, what if he posts signs that say something like "POSTED: The owner of this property does not grant to anyone the consent to enter without first consulting him. POLICE TAKE NOTICE" Do those signs hold in a court of law? Would they do anything to protect the garage door that is stuck open?

I am having trouble in differential equations. Soecifically with initial value problems.

For instance,

Take the equation:

y'' +2*y'+2*y=2*cos(2*x),

when y(0)= -2,

and y'(0)=0

I get lost in the problem and can't seem to solve it. Any help?

I was watching Jim Rome yesterday and he brought up the point that the NHL is the most underrated league. He brought up how hockey lacked the large television contracts adn had a smaller following than the other three sports. But from there, He went to a point I didnt expect from someone on ESPN not named Barry Melrose. He said that while no one watches Hockey in the US, once you do start watching, its addicting. America would love the game if it were marketed to them like the NFL, NBA and MLB. But instead, the average American can only identify two players (maybe 3 or 4 at most) in the NHL. I find this statement to be completely true. The NHL has all the elements that Americans love in sport. Its physical, its fast, its action-packed, it has the highlight reel moments, and the star power, it has the "never know whats going to happen" feel.

So I want to know, What are your thoughts on this?

Do you think Hockey is a sport Americans would love and just need to give it a chance.

Or do you beleive Hockey is something best reserved for real fans and Canada.

Or do you have a different position on the matter?
