  • London to Brighton 2013?

Heres the issue. I am really looking forward to the london to brighton cycle ride this year ( I havent been before) but im not sure how to get there.

They dont let you have bikes on the train on the day of the ride and I am on a budget so staying in a hotel in london is a no go. Anyone got any ideas of how to get there. I also no no-one who can give me a lift there and cant stay at a friends as I know no-one near there.

I live in East Sussex, along the south coast.

    Thanks

  • Are macs really better for multimedia?

An answer to a recent question which I asked sparked is question.

Are macs really better for photo and video editing running programs like after effects, photoshop, premiere, cinema 4d ect

    The i7 27" imac is £1800

For that sort of money I can make a PC with this spec...

    I7 ivy bridge 3.5ghz (overclockable)

    16GB or more of RAM

    60GB SSD and 1TB HDD

    Nvidia GTX 570 1.25GB Graphics

    Blu ray drive

    Samsung 27" 2560x1440 screen

I dont want to start off the mac vs pc debate (unless its backed up with legit experience or data)

I just find it hard to believe how the imac can be better for editing photo and video than a PC like the one I just specified (granted the imac looks nicer and takes up less space) but logically speaking, wouldnt the renring times and general speed of the PC be better than the macs?

The PC also has more ports and connectivity/compatibility with accessories as far as im aware

So are macs REALLY that good that they can beat specs like the ones listed.

Thank you in advance for any responses and I will pick a best answer for 10 points for someone

  • These computers for video editing and other things?

Normally im good with PCs but I want to get into video editing and was looking for a fast pc which will cut down on rendering times and allow the program to rin smoothly.

Adobe premiere, After effects, photoshop(i do alot of photo editing)cinema 4d (for 3d), and maybe sony vegaspro

I also needs to be able to run a 2560x1440 screen

    So far I found this

    http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/acer-g3619-desktop-p...

Which looks pretty good and I can throw more RAM and a better Graphics card at it So would be good if it will do all I want it to

Or for £1150 i can get this:

Intel core i7 ivy bridge 3770K overclocked to 4.2ghz

8GB RAM but space to up that

2GB AMD radeon 6970 or twin Nvidia gts 450 1GB cards

    60GB SSD with 1TB HDD

Just wondered what peoplethought about this because I was considering an imac or macbook pro but they are too expensiive and these are more powerful.

I dont do much gaming, so this is mainly for the programs which I listed above

Thank you innadvance for your help, and people woth video editing experience would be useful to answer this, or PC experts, thanks

I know the second one is the better spec, but will it be worth the extra money for the effect on performance

  • Do people on here know about google...?

Why is it that people ask inane and pointless questions qhich take time to ask and answer then a simple internet search would take less time to produce more information.

  • Anyone done/used acai supplements ?

Normally I tend to do things the old school way and steer well clear of supplements (except whey protein) but I have seen a number of places claiming massive weight loss in a short space of time with this acai berry stuff.

Now I am hugely skeptical when it comes to these things because I dont see how taking this could possible lead to those losses without nearly destroying your heart with cardio.

So anyway, I was wondering if there was any credibility to these claims and if so, why are people like mens health, mend fitness, and others going crazy reccommending it??

Has anyone actually tried using it and what results have you had.

    Thanks

  • Where to drive a go kart?

I was thinking about buying or making my own go kart as a summer thing to do but have a limited budget, so i was wondering where you can drive it without the police having a go at you.

Other than the circuits are you allowed to drive it in empty car parks early in the morning at anything like that because i cant really afford to do it on a track, and I both live on a busy road and dont know anyone with a load of land that i could drive on

    Thanks
