The decision was made in a rush but I got enrolled at Dalhousie University today. Just shortly after returning home, i found in my mailbox, a mail from University Of colorado (UC). Both universities are willing to offer to scholarships such that in the end i will have to pay an equal amount in both. I am in a big dilemma right now. If UC is the better decision, i can just mess up with my visa process on purpose, hence reducing my chances of getting a visa. After that, i request for a refund from Dalhousie. It is definitely a messed up process but if going to UC balances the risk, i am willing to do it. Help me out!

I was thinking about transferring to UC next year, but then i heard the scholarships are only open to freshmen...

Also, are they prestigious universities and hold some weight in the world?

It is no surprise or revelation, the fact that the world we live in today, the society we represent, the lives we lead are much different than even a few decades ago. Evolution, civilization and modernization account for most of these changes and the rapidness is caused by our rush to obtain what we do not posses. However, like any other question in this world, the aforementioned one is dilemmatic.

Take for instance the blessing of electricity and how it taken the world in a such a short period of time. It has helped us save hours of time, which would otherwise be lost in mere attempts, some of which might even prove to be futile. The automobile technology has made it possible for people to travel distances across the world in such short periods, making it the most required form of technology among all. Need I remind you of the Internet and how it has affected our lives? The ability to reach someone from another part of the world is nothing short of god-like. These gifts and positive outcomes if technology presented to us are no doubt the most advanced form of civilization the world could offer.

These inhuman gifts are so attractive and viable that we accept and prefer them blindly. But have we ever thought of its darker side and the consequences it may bear? These robotic instruments have caused utter paralysis and disregard towards humanly abilities in us. We control the TV using a remote instead of walking up to the TV, we use automated cars instead of manual cycle, we are dependant on fast food, regardless of the fact that we know the poison we are ingesting. If one day it were all to disappear, would we stand the slightest of a chance to fight back, with our fat saturated limbs and inability to operate manually?

I see around me the strongest and smartest men who have ever lived. I see all this potential, yet i see squandering. I see and entire generation, pumping gas, waiting tables- slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate to buy things we do not need. We are are the middle children of history. We have no depression, now great war. Our great war is a spiritual one, our great depression is our lives. TV has raised us to believe that someday we would grow to become rockstars and millionaires. But we will not, and we are slowly learning the fact.

Einstein once said, "Time is relative." To a man busy his life, time might seem to fly, but to a man with a gun pointed to his head, every moment might feel longer than a lifetime. The fact that something as fundamental as time might vary when falling victim to circumstances is just another ally strenghtening the dilemma of civilization. Is it a curse or a blessing, a reward of punishment, only time shal tell.

I recently finished my Edexcel A levels. I got 8 A's in my O levels, 1 A in A level Maths and 2 B's in Physics and Chemistry and am expecting another A in Pure Maths.

I intend to sit for my SATs by june and hopefully get 2100+ scores.

I am a professional guitarist. I have played in three different bands and performed at several underground shows.

I am also a professional bodybuilder. I have been crowned Mr. Young-mania dhaka this year and am also an instructor at one of the most famous gyms in Bangladesh (not gold's gym T_T).

Could someone please tell me what are my odds? Also, i will require high financial aid as it is not possible for my family to afford the cost of attendance.

I was thinking of getting one, but then i heard they are banned in Islam. I am a Muslim and quite a strong believer. I had to get this resolved before i do anything.
