  • How to fix dash lights?

93 Silverado pickup. The dash lights up, but the lighted switches for the head lights, and the lighted switches for the heater controls have gone out. I find no bad fuses. What is the secret for getting these back on?

    Thanks.

  • If I spray my roses with detergent/water mix to kill aphids, will I also kill the green/black ladybug things?

They look like ladybugs, a little longer body, green with black spots. Are those good bugs or bad bugs? There are also aphids, tiny black bugs in the roses. At least I think those are aphids.

  • Honda Goldwing GL1100 carbs?

I have a 1981 GL1100. The carbs are junk. I am finding some 1980's and some 1982's. Are they the same? Will they just bolt up as a replacement?

  • Can I swap side bolt cover heads to center bolt cover heads on SB chevy?

I have a newish complete mid 80's 350 small block engine. It has side bolt valve cover heads; it is a stock-type new engine, ie flat top pistons, etc. I want to swap out the existing 350 small block engine in my 93 Silverado pickup (it has center bolt valve covers). If I trade heads (the heads are the newest part of the existing engine in the truck), will the heads swap out ok to the block?

  • Why won't my '93chev Silverado truck run?

Half-ton, 350ci, 4sp auto. I replaced the entire distributor, coil, rotor, cap with a parts house rebuild. At the same time, I replaced the plugs, fuel filter, air filter. Disconnect the EMT, set timing to 4BTDC. The truck ran super-great for about 50 yards and died, never to start again. I replaced the entire distributor, coil, rotor, cap with MSD. The truck ran super-great for 2 days, started hiccups once in awhile, then died. Started again after 3 hours, drove it home. Call the local Chevy dealer, got the truck in. Exactly two weeks later (today), I got my truck back. Chevy told me the timing was 20 degrees retard; and could find nothing else wrong. (I asked about fuel pump, "computer-wizard-possesed-something broken?"). My drive home is 1 1/2 hours over mountains. My truck ran TERRIBLE; missing, no power, very rough idle.

I make it home, take off the air filter, check the timing: 24BTDC, this is at idle! I disconnect the EMT wire, check timing: 4BDTC.

    What is wrong?
