Cat attacks dog, cat may be dead, am I responsible?
So I know this is totally bizarre but I saw it with my own eyes. A cat (that I am pretty sure belonged to the people in the house behind me) jumped from the six foot fence separating our houses and onto my dog's back a few nights ago. Of course the two animals got in a fight and the cat ran off. My dog had several bloody scratches on his back and neck. My neighbors have now posted a sign that their cat is missing. Am I responsible to tell them our animals may have got into a fight; I cant be 100% sure it was their cat as all I know is that they have a dark colored cat. Am I legally responsible? Especially since the cat came into our yard and attacked our dog!
7 AnswersDogs10 years agoHow long do I let my child eat at mealtime?
My daughter is almost four years old and overall is a great eater. We eat as a family every night, she eats a variety of foods and we do not have dessert after dinner (only on special occassions). My problem is no matter what we have tried she seems to take FOREVER to eat a meal. I dont want to rush her and have her develop any food issues and it isnt that she isnt hungry, but is there a point where we go ahead and take her plate and end the meal?
Some examples: she has to leave for preschool by 7:45 am and I let her choose what she wants for breakfast in the morning (out of a list of choices). No matter if I get her up at 6:50 or 7:00am, she takes until almost 7:30 to finish breakfast
At dinner she has taken as long as an hour and ten minutes to eat.
Just some additional info:
We do not have any rules about having to clear your plate, if she says she is full or done she can be excused.
When it takes her this long it isnt that she is full, when we try to take her plate she will says she is hungry.
We give her choices on some of the foods she eats at dinner and she helps me cook
She is not allowed any snacks two hours to an hour and a half before dinner
5 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoToddler Wont Sleep?
My 27 month old daughter use to sleep from about 9pm until around 7am with a two hour nap between 1:30pm and 3:30pm. Since last Friday she has gone to sleep somewhere between 10pm and midnight (but we put her in her room no later than 9) and she still gets up at the same time, but has changed her nap from 1-4. My husband and I cant think of anything that has changed, no food, schedule, etc. but we are going crazy and feel like prisoners in our own home.
We cant watch tv or do anything else because she is immediately up asking us what is going on. There is a baby gate across her door and we tell her she has to stay in her bed but she gets up sometimes around 10 times before going to sleep. Last night she also woke up at 4am and wanted to get up. She stayed awake until about 5am and then went back to sleep until 8am. Any suggestions, is this just a phase?

How is it that Howie Day and John Mayer became famous when Willy Porter is a millions times better songwriter and guitar player? I have seen this guy several times in concert and he is friendly, funny, engaging and an amazing live performer.

So I am a few years off from having to worry about this but I do not want my child to participate in the D.A.R.E. program. I feel it is an unsuccessful program and will be a waste of her educational time at school. I also feel that her father and I will do a better job educating her on this topic at home. From what I remember parents have to sign a permission slip for their child to particpate in the program. Has anyone not had their child participate in D.A.R.E. and did you have any difficulties with parents, the school, etc afterwards?
