  • Halloween 2009 Costume Help?

By the time Halloween rolls around, my boys will be 3 1/2 years old and 9 months old. I was trying to think of costumes that would work together but are not too "cute" for the toddler ---my hubby doesn't want him to look "like a sissy"...typical guy :o) ---- anyways, any ideas would be appreciated. I kinda thought Batman and Robin would work but not sure. Thanks!!

  • Advice for road trip with baby & toddler..?

Hello! My husband and I are going to be taking a 2 hr road trip on Sunday with our almost 3 year old and 3 month old sons. We haven't driven farther than about 40 mins with either son. I know this isn't long for some people but it is for us, and we'll be coming home the same day so I need some ideas to keep our toddler busy/entertained. I have some ideas but just wondering what "tricks" other parents have. Thanks!

  • Celebration for 2nd child....?

Here's the thing, I understand the whole 2nd baby shower idea being rude to some. The EXPECTING of gifts and all that. Am I the only one who thinks that the 2nd child should also get welcomed into the world and have a little party too? (I have a 2 1/2 yr old and only 13 days til my second arrives.) I'm planning to have a party welcoming the baby where I AM NOT expecting any gifts - - although, I am hoping for some diapers :o)!!!! Now having said all that, any ideas on themes for the party? Any ways to include my 2 1/2 yr old so he doesn't feel like all the attention is on the baby? Once again, I AM NOT EXPECTING/WANTING GIFTS, it's more about welcoming the new baby!!!

  • Freezer meals for after baby...?

I'm about 34 weeks pregnant with baby #2. (Already have a 2 1/2 yr old) I've never done any freezer cooking before but would like to try to make a few that I can put in the freezer for days when I have no energy. I need the recipe & the directions. Which seems to be the hard part, I can find all these recipes that sound good but don't know if I'm supposed to cook before & reheat or freeze & then cook. How long & at what temperatures would be much appreciated. Don't mean to sound stupid but we don't really have the money to throw away because I don't cook it properly (nor do I want to make my son or hubby sick from under-cooking...) Thanks for all suggestions.

  • Pink Fluff salad/dessert?

I'm looking for a recipe that is similar to the pink fluff you can get at like Hy-Vee deli's. It has like cool whip but that's all I can remember. My husband loves it and I was going to try to make it for Thanksgiving. Thanks.

  • Homemade Christmas Gift Jars?

I'm thinking about making some Christmas gift jars this year. I would love recipes from all who have done or plan to do the same thing. Non-edible items (bath salts, candles, etc.) would be extremely welcomed. Although food recipes are needed too! Thanks! Anything different would be great (there are a million different cookies & brownie recipes available online.) Thanks again!!!

I'm just wondering if there are things we can check before taking it to a service shop that might fix it? My cuz said it could be the thermometer is stuck open? Anyone with any real answers appreciated. Would like to atleast try options (that wont HURT my car) before taking it in. Thanks!

  • Pasta for reception food?

Do you think it would appear cheap if we did a pasta & salad bar for our wedding reception? Like if we did spaghetti and then an alfredo pasta and have bowls of bread rolls and a big bowl of tossed salad? My fiance and I both love pasta and pasta/bread fills people up. Let me know. Thanks.

  • New rock love songs/ballads.....?

Ok so I'm trying to find some new rock love songs/ballads for our wedding. Not neccessarily for the church, just any part. I know there are a ton of country but my fiance isn't into country all that much so trying to include his music too, to make him feel like it's not just "my" big day, but both of ours. Thanks for all the help.

  • How to deal with friend losing baby?

One of my friends just lost her 4 month old baby three days ago. I went to visitation last night and the funeral was today. Now I'm freaked out and worried about my 1 1/2 yr old. He's had a cold and today started to sound bad (coughing alot, congested..) My mom doesn't seem too worried, thinks he just has a cold and if he doesn't get better this weekend to take him to the doctor on monday. I think I'm just freaked out since I went to visitation last night. Any ideas on how to deal with this without being overly worried about my baby?

  • Wedding Help Please?

I'm having a black and white wedding, with red as an accent color. I'm having it in April 08. My dress is black & white, the bridesmaids are black w/ red trimming, the cake is black and white and the flowers are roses. I'm just wanting some ideas for decor (church &/or reception), and I'm not sure what I want for food either. It's between sub sandwhiches displayed on platters w/ chips, nuts etc or having appetizers or even having a couple different food stations. My mom and dad are helping some but we are still trying to look great with not a lot of money to do it with. All ideas welcome. Thanks!!

  • Black and white theme....another question.?

Ok, so I've tried looking through the other black and white wedding theme questions and I've been disappointed. I have an accent color of a royal/cobalt blue. I need pictures of like decorations for the reception/dance. Pictures of bouquets and maybe some cute (yet not too expensive) food ideas? I've googled and yahoo'd and keep coming up with the same sites over and over. Any new ideas people have would be very helpful. I found my cake already, as it matches my white w/ black wedding dress. And i have the bridesmaid dresses.

  • New wedding info..?

Ok, so we are still getting married in April 2008. With the dress I fell in love with, as well as the bridesmaids, I know want a black and white wedding with royal/cobalt blue accents. I need pictures/ideas for everything now.....decorations for church, reception , flowers....etc. All help will be appreciated (as long as it's not sarcastic.) I know to not over do it with the black, and I wont. I just want something to match my dress. Here are the links....

    http://www.venusbridal.com/cgi-bin/description.asp... That's my dress.

http://www.barijay.com/style.php?PHPSESSID=88576dd... That's my bridesmaids, only trimmed in blue not pink.

Also have a picture of an IDEA of the wedding cake, just ask and I'll email it. Thanks all.
