5 AnswersPolls & Surveys8 years agoIn your opinion, Is taxation theft?
It's certainly involuntary. If you do not give money to the government, the government has the power to point a gun at you and throw you in a cage.
Is the "Social Contract" applicable to this argument because babies born into a society did not choose to live in a certain jurisdiction. Therefore, is it justified to violate someone's personal property right (income) to have a government?
I know y'all are probably not anarchists (I'm not), just interested in yall's houghts on this. Thanks!!!

11 AnswersPolitics8 years agoWhy doesn't Obama set the minimum wage at 15 dollars?
Or 20 dollars? Or 50 dollars? Then we'll be rich, right? Wrong.
Does Obama not realize that higher minimum wage laws results in higher unemployment for low skilled workers looking to enter the workforce? I guess he wants to continue his increased enrollment in the food stamp and welfare programs.
17 AnswersPolitics8 years agoWhy are you NOT a libertarian?
Libertarians support smaller government, civil liberties for all people, emphasis on the strict protection of property rights, using peaceful means and free trade
What part of libertarianism is disagreeable to you? Why is it not a mainstream political philosophy like conservatism and liberalism?
15 AnswersPolitics8 years agoPlease someone argue logically in defense of socialism?
How can someone realistically claim socialism is the best economic philosophy to base government policy on? Hasn't capitalism been responsible for the creation of all the wealth, technology, rising standards of living, and overall increase in day-to-day happiness in the world?
10 AnswersPolitics8 years agoWill the US ever return to having economic freedom?
Right now, the US ranks 10th behind Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Canada, Chile, Mauritius, and Denmark. Do you think the US should be higher on the list or lower on the list? Is economic freedom good or bad?
Here's the complete "Economic Freedom Index?"

5 AnswersMovies8 years agoWhat country, if any, has the most solid political system?
I'm not talking about infrastructure, private institutions, wealth, etc. I'm talking about governing body.
I would say Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand, etc. are all pretty favorable over the current US economic/political climate right about now. What do you think? Why?

8 AnswersPolitics8 years agoThese are the biggest reasons why the Blacks and Hispanics have not fully escaped poverty yet?
Average levels of income per family in US (2009 data)
Whites - 62,545
Blacks - 38,409
Asian - 75,027
Hispanic - 39,730
The 2 reasons I see why poorer people stay poorer is not because of skin color or incompetence. But rather these governmental forces that have stifled income mobility like public education and the minimum wage.
Poor schools/education: Rougher, low income level neighborhoods usually have the worst quality of schools. Should we expect any different from a government-operated system that contains excess bureaucracy and no competition? Also, higher education has become very expensive. This can be attributed to the government's guaranteed student loan programs that incentivize the colleges to drive up the cost and allow students to take on debt because its guaranteed?
The poorer classes are the ones hurt most by minimum wage laws. These laws, although are well intended, make employing people with low skills more difficult and therefore deny poorer people opportunities to enter the work force.
What are your opinions?
Thanks.
