  • there's a website being hosted on my domain that I know nothing about...?

lets say my domain is "abc123.com". there is a page at "abc123.com/~unknown" that is a whole other website[from Pakistan], but I know nothing about it. Its not part of my hosted files, so i cant delete it, yet it exists as part of my domain. how is this possible? and how do i get rid of this piggybacking website?

is it possible that my hosting company is aware/responsible? how can i protect my site from this kind of misuse. The only way i became aware of this was because that site has a 'suspicious malware' link on it that a search engine brought to my attention as the domain administrator, otherwise I wouldn't even know about it. I'm feeling pretty violated right now. I really want to educate myself on this issue, so any links to references and resources would be much appreciated.

  • windows 7 OS says my 1 yr old internal 3.5" 1TB sata hd is going bad;?

the hds drive letters/partitions on the system no longer show up in 'my computer'; however...it works perfectly fine on my XP system when i connect it with an external usb adapter. I can see and access all partitions when connected to the XP system, but when re-connected with the usb adapter to the Win7 system, it now tells me I need to format the partitions in order to 'use' them. So the drive IS NOT working any longer on the Win7 system neither internal nor external...but it does work on my XP system....the question is "What would/could cause this, and is there a fix?"

  • formatted a 1.5tb HD into 3 partitions, vista can only see 2 of them...?

Successfully formatted a 1.5tb sata hd into 3 separate NTFS partitions (500/500/396) using an XP sp3 32bit pc; moved the drive to a Vista 64bit pc, and only 2 of the partitions are usable, the 3rd (396mb) has a driveletter, but is 'raw', not formatted, and the Vista os cannot successfully format it, so its useless wasted space. any idea why?
