  • Why go gay people's voices change?

It's just a curiosity question and I honestly don't mean anything rude by it. I just noticed that a lot of gay guys talk in a higher octave and gay ladies talk in a deepr octave. Why is that?

  • Question About TX Rangers stadium?

Can an average person just mosey on over to where Nolan Ryan and George W. Bush sit and meet them? Never been to a game and the thought just occurred to me.

    Follow up Question:

Where the heck DO they sit?? (Cuz I'm bringing binoculars to the game I'm going to!)

  • What happens if bloodflow is completely cut off from the inferior vena cava?

I know it cuts off circulation in the legs and whatnot. how would a person die? Would their heart stop? I'm asking because I have a family member who has less than a month to live and she has a renal tumor that's pressing on her inferior vena cava, causing edema and rapid heart beat. I want to know whether there will be suffering or if her heart will just stop when it comes to that. Please let me know so I can have peace of mind.

  • What is the best approach when trying to climb over someone's emotional wall they've built?

Here's the scenario. There's this guy I work with that is one of the coolest people I have ever met. We get along pretty good and have good conversations. We help each other out with our work, he has mentored me in the past, and I really respect him as a person. Here's the problem, he has this huge wall up that I can't seem to get thru. Every now and again, I'll get a little window and I can see thru it and then it shuts again. I know a little bit about him just by asking the right questions at the right time. I'm always telling him he is nice, and smart, and caring, and how appreciative I am of him and he won't reciprocate. I don't expect him to at all but I don't even get a response such as "thank you" or anything. The most I've gotten out of him is that he prefers to not think about compliments or accept them. He just tunes them out and he won't say anything back b/c he doesn't care. I've tried to tell him that I accept him for who he is, I respect him and how he is and he told me that if I really knew him, I'd know how much he sucks. This is NOT true at all. If y'all knew this guy, he's probably the most geniune, caring, respectful person I've ever met.

However, we only correspond via email and he sits about 10ft away from me. We've worked in the same building for 5 yrs and the most time I've spent with him at one time was 3 hrs going over job duties. He won't say hi or acknowledge my presence. I've mentioned this and he said that he generally doesn't talk to anybody... which is completely true.

So how to I get him to "let me in" if you will? I don't ever say anything bad to him about it, I just be there and accept him and still throw out compliments. (sincere). All I want, is for him to call me friend, and to let me into his life a little. OR do you think I'm trying too hard and I just need to be happy with what little I got?? This dude is very difficult to figure out.

This is 100% platonic... we are both married and i've made it abundantly clear that there is no hidden agenda.

  • why do the strangest words end up racist terms?

I was reading online about stuff and came across where it said that somebody called Obama "uppity" and it was interpreted as racist. I've seen all the answers so I don't want to know the definition according to people. I want to know y'all opinion as to why this occurs. I actually use this word in this manner, " Those people in the rich neighborhood act all uppity and better than us". Uppity to me = snooty or snobish. not racist. Need opinions on this. no bashing b/c I'm not in the mood for it. I just want opinions as I respect everyone's opinion. Thanks.

  • How do 2 passive aggressive people get along?

My friend and I are both p.a. BAD. We don't speak directly to each other at all to avoid any potential conflict. We email each other only. We are constantly trying to one up each other to be in control. I know that one of us should stop it. But how if that's just how we are? I would try but it freaks me out and makes me feel inferior (helloooo p.a!!) I'm very outgoing and he's introverted b/c of this. so any help would be appreciated! (and we are just friends btw.. totally platonic)
