Ephesians 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. My husband and I are members of the church of Christ and have a great love for God, for mankind and for family and friends. I married within my faith because marriage means 'unity in love' and marriage is for a lifetime, never to be thrown away like yesterdays garbage, as is so common today. I married Mr Right and life has been wonderful with him as we approach 5 years of beauty and peace with each other, with God as the Head of our home. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ "The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't so." - Ronald Reagan

  • Is it possible to close my account for a couple of months, then activate it again?

I need to close my Yahoo account for a couple of months but don't want to lose the things I have saved in folders. Is it possible to temporarily shut it down and then activate it again? If so, what are the steps to doing this? Thanks for your help.

  • Can you recommend a good software program?

I am working on my genealogy and have pictures that are too small and Windows doesn't enlarge them without distorting them with pixel faces. I need a software program that will let me enlarge pictures so they look normal as they get bigger. I'm on disability so I don't have alot of money to invest in this. Any suggestions and where to buy it? Thanks.

  • Anyone know anything about WipeDrive5?

My husband and I both have new computers but still have the old ones that we want to get rid of soon, but I've been concerned about getting rid of them before getting rid of the "hidden" personal information on the hard drive, as I understand it's a good way to be a victim of identity theft if someone knows how to hack into the system.

I read in a magazine about WipeDrive 5 which is at WhiteCanyon.com but want to see if anyone else knows about the software or has used it and how good it might be before investing $40 in it.

    Thanks for your help :)

  • How can I do this on this computer?

I recently posted about having problems with a Mirus computer where they gave us bootleg software. We cannot get on the computer and do anything except browse a useless box with questions and other junk on it that leads me no where, other than to say "when you have illegetimate software, blah, blah"

I just tried putting the Vista CD in to see if I could download it on the system, just to wipe out anything my husband may have put on there. One is the Key # to RoadRunner that I would prefer not to have in other hands. Well, this thing won't let me download anything on it.

Any suggestions on how we might wipe out anything in the memory? Will putting magnets on the metal side of the box mess things up or not? It used to but wasn't sure if it still will or not.

  • Problems with Mirus computer?

I bought a computer in Dec from Sears for my husband for christmas. We got everything set up on New Years Eve and after a couple of days working with RoadRunner, were able to get his system up and running.

Then a couple of days ago, he went to get on his computer and he can't do squat !! It says the product key is invalid so we pull out his software and, low and behold, there is NO key listed on anything !!

There is a message at the lower right that says "This copy of Windows Is Not Genuine" *grrrrr* That was one reason we bought it so it would have the same system as mine. We can, of course, buy one from the computer company (box appears to connect us to them ~ whole site is worthless & no help)

I have written to Sears tonight and am awaiting a reply. Now I don't trust anything they downloaded on this system so we will box it up and return it to Sears with a big NO THANKS. Who is Equus Computer Systems? Anyone else have problems like this? Suggestions?

  • Have you given thanks?

I accidentally posted this under politics and got two very smart-aleck comments and that's ok, there are all kinds of people in this world, just hope I don't get as cynical and nasty as those two.

If you don't agree, just go to another post and keep your childish comments to yourself. Grow up.

I worked at a large PD in OH for 25 years and lost a lot of friends so I know the sacrifice they make. My gf was in WWI and fought in France and I had several uncles in WWII who lived with terrible memories of what they went through. We need to give thanks to those who protect us and quit being so cynical about everything.

Remember, this is about giving thanks to all those who serve and protect us, whether it be in the military or law enforcement or at the fire department. They ALL serve proudly to protect us.

  • Can you help with Vista?

I bought my husband a new computer for christmas and he finally hooked it up Sunday night. He called RoadRunner and they tried to get him online but nothing they did worked. I told him about the firewall so he called them back and told them but they still couldn't get it online. Does anyone have any suggestions that might help? RR is supposed to call back this morning when he gets home from work but I'd like to see what others might be able to share with us so we can come up with a solution.

Also, there is a DVI cable that I hooked up to his monitor but, there isn't any place to plug it in to the computer box. Could this be the problem? What is the DVI cable for and how important is it so the computer functions properly?

Thank you folks for any help you can give us.

    Happy New Year everyone :)

  • Defragging with Vista Home Premium?

VHP is so different from Millenium and Windows 98 and even though I found this once, I haven't been able to find it since then. Can someone walk me through, step-by-step, how to go in and defrag under this program please?

I really like VHP but I don't think it is user friendly and that bugs me when someone makes a program more difficult than it needs to be.

Appreciate any help anyone can give me.

  • Have you seen this?

    President Teddy Roosevelt's 1919 quote:

"We should insist that if the immigrant who comes here does, in good faith, become an American and assimilates himself to us. He shall be treated on an exact equality with every one else for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed or birth-place or origin.

But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American and nothing but an American. If he tries to keep segregated with men of his own origin and separated from the rest of America, then he isn't doing his part as an American.

There can be no divided allegiance here. . . We have room for but one language here and that is the English language, for we intend to see that the crucible turns our people out as Americans, of American nationality and not as dwellers in a polyglot boarding-house; and we have room for but one soul loyalty and that is loyalty to the American people."

    Amen and Amen !!

  • Have You Given Thanks For.....?

I received this in my email today and even though I know there are many out there who do not approve of the war, there are many fighting overseas that do and there are many of us here who are behind them.

I for one want to thank all of our service people for their sacrifice for all of us who really appreciate what you are doing... and for those who don't. May God watch over you and keep you safe to come home and enjoy the freedom you have worked so hard to give us....... and I thank Lizzie for caring enough to do up this beautiful tribute to honor all you.

  • To: Skipping Period When Exercising?

Any woman who exercises quite a bit can experience this problem because the woman will secrete more testosterone (male hormone) which slows the menstrual cycle. Many girls who are cheerleaders and runners experience this because they do extensive workouts... and some don't, I'm sure, but it is a possibilty. My girlfriend was a cheerleader and said her periods were very light while she was active in that and my sister-in-law played softball all the time and also had lighter periods. If you are concerned, go to a gynecologist just to make sure everything is ok but when you quit working out, I'm sure you will have heavier periods at that point
