I tried making a spiced gingerbread cake and we found the taste of molasses a bit overpowering. The recipe called for 1 cup molasses. Any ideas on what ingredient could substitute for at least 1/2 cup of molasses? Thanks!

Our roof is originally painted blue, but somebody mentioned that it should be changed because according to feng shui it represents steady flowing water over our heads which can cause problems and sickness to abound. I found a hot dog waffle maker in my parent's kitchen cabinet. Unfortunately the instruction manual is missing. I tried to make some hot dog waffles, but only end up with a mess, e.g. the batter sticks to the iron or the batter spreads out of the iron. Is there a technique to obtain results such as those commercially sold?

My dad will be starting his radiotherapy treatment next month for 30 days. The doctors say that he'll be receiving the treatment in the morning and can actually go home for the day after the treatment has been administered. I have a one-year-old kid who really loves to play with his grandpa. Is it safe for my kid to hang around my dad whenever he comes home from the hospital after his treatment.?
