I gave my company 2 week notice, and the counter offer was $3/hr more immediately plus $5/hr more a year from now in exchange for more responsibility. I am not happy with the job, but would you sacrifice happiness for more pay?

In a school zone with specified times for the school zone to be active, is it legal for a crossing guard start enforcing school zone speed limit 10 minutes early?

I had a friend of mine from human resources, and also my colleges career resources department separately look at the other's revisions to my resume cover letter. The HR friend made it short and generic. The Career services department had me put a lot of detail about my accomplishments.

It turned out that they both hate the cover letter they didn't revise. The HR girl thinks it is pointless to include info that is already in the resume. The college says it is necessary to summarize it. So which one should I use? I would think they both know what they are doing.

I have a really good hunting location in a hunting club at work, but I've seen an increase in what is definitely brown recluse spiders crawling around next to me, that I can't see while it is still dark. Yesterday I had one crawling along the barrel of my rifle while I was holding it. I get that I am in the woods and there is going to be spiders and Mosquitos everywhere, but should I be worried about getting bit? The are other types of stands to use in the area, but not at great locations.

I am about to buy my first motorcycle. I have pretty much made up my mind, although I do not yet know what type. I know several people with motorcycles, and most of my friends and family support me, but I have had a lot of people talking at me lately. They say "Motorcycles are dangerous no matter how safe you are", and "You are going to die on one." I plan on taking the motorcycle safety course. I plan to be careful, and I have no intention of flying down the interstate at 200 mph. I am well aware that there are risks of not being in a 4 wheeled, enclosed, vehicle, and that accidents are caused usually by careless other drivers not watching for you.

My question is, what is your reason for riding? What do you tell those who are afraid for your safety? Are you just in it for the rush of flying down the road? Do you just like to cruise in the open air? Do you do it for the purpose of putting your life on the line? Are you just trying to save on gas?

I like the idea of saving on gas money. I like being able to park easier, or catch a ride on a ferry without waiting in line. A lot of people don't seem to get that I like the idea of cruising down the road just for the enjoyment of it.

I am not trying to cheat my way through games. All my game platforms and memory cards were stolen, and so I am using older platforms and games that were left in my apartment. I had hundreds of hours of game play between all the games I had. I am just trying to make things right and restore the time that was lost. I don't have the time to commit myself to all that work. The PS1 has no USB port, so I can't use a USB drive. I have heard of emulators, but don't really understand how that works, and every piece of information I have found on my question was only useful for xbox, PS2 or the other newer game platforms.

The spare key is a half hour drive away. The key broke in half easily after it was removed completely from the car door. Is it possible to bond it together and not risk losing the tip in the ignition? (only until I can pick up the spare key)

I am hoping for the most equivalent exchange in ability possible, unless better cards are out there.

Is it likely that there is a problem? or is there something I can put in the water to bring back his color? This is the second time in 2 months that it molted in that tank, and the water is clean as far as the tests go.

I had one pet crawfish that ate feeder fish. That was cool to watch. I have a newer crawfish of a different species that only eats the aquarium plants. Is there a way to coax him to broaden his diet to include fish without starving him of the other food source. I don't want to chance killing him, but I like watching him feed.

I have a 10 gallon tank with 7 cichlids. They are not all from the same store, and all bought on different days. Most recently, I bought a red peacock cichlid. The first one was half eaten within 24 hours. The second one I bought the next day, lasted a week and I just found it dead at the bottom of the tank. All the fish are eating well and have plenty of swimming room. None of the other fish have ever had problems with each other. Any idea, why only this species of cichlid keeps getting attacked? I really want to add this color of fish to the tanks color scheme.

I just found a crawfish at a pet store, and they gave me 10 feeder fish to let swim in its tank until they are all eaten. 8 of those fish have already been consumed, within a 9 hour period. It costs about a dollar for 10 fish, so it is not that bad, but I can't see how the 1 crawfish could have eaten them all so fast, and I am pretty sure that that is way too much for the crawfish to be eating. I could feed it other stuff at a slower rate, but I was just doing what the pet store told me to do. Any suggestions?

I like my close friends. I been feeling a little downtrodden and mentally exhausted around them. I still enjoy the conversations with them, I just feel a little disconnected with a lot of them around our group. I am really close with a 2 or 3, and I can do 1 on 1 conversations or small groups with the others, I am not concerned with what some of them think about me. I have just been feeling really quiet, or a little emotionally disconnected with a lot of the conversation. I don't want to ditch my closer friends just because I feel like that around the others. I want to blend in with the rest of the crowd better. Even one of my closer friends asked me why I was so quiet today. We usually have a lot to talk about between ourselves. I don't want to ditch these good friends and the way I am feeling is probably not the best attitude to meet new people with.

An old female friend (A) of ours got into a big fight with her roommate who is also our friend (B). Friend (B) moved out, and a boyfriend moved in with friend (A). Friend (A) stopped hanging out with us for almost a year. She broke up with the guy and now wants to get back into our group and hang out.

When asked near the beginning, she told me she wanted to focus only on school work and would not hangout or go out anywhere with anyone anymore, (with the exception of her boyfriend). She still has plenty of school work left and this semester of college will only get more difficult as the weeks go on.

I don't particularly dislike her, but I would choose her old roommate over herself any day.

Would you allow her back into the group so easily? Should she have to pay for abandoning us for her boyfriend like we are yesterday's garbage? Should she be let back in at all? There is also the issue of her old roommate still hanging with us, even though she is legitimately too busy with work and college classes to come around a lot. It would not be pretty having them meet again face to face. All of us in the group have different opinions and feelings about the way she left. I mean, I can understand bringing your grades up, but just for a guy?

I need 16 hours out of 32 hours specifically of trash pickup community service to satisfy the conditions of my probation from court. I checked the phone books and internet and found nothing within an hour of my town. I talked the information desk at the courthouse, who said to talk to the probation office. The Probation office said to go to a police station, the police station said to go to the courthouse or pick a job off their list of non-profit organizations. The only job that would work on the list did not exist at that address. It was a dentist office.

I am sick of getting the run-around by all these people. Any ideas on where to go next, or is it possible the probation office might allow me to substitute those hours for something else?

Windows Firewall and Zone Alarm are not interfering. What else could be the problem? I don't want to switch programs and don't want to hear anything about legality. I just can figure this out.
