  • what is the reason for most officers not upholding the law when it comes to illegal aliens?

I'm disgusted at what I increasingly see everyday. An illegal will be pulled over for whatever reason. Their vehicle is immediately towed but they either walk away without even a ticket or get arrested (dui, etc.) and then get released. Why can't the law follow through? Border patrol can only do so much without backup from their fellow officers. If you are willing to tow a car for not having a license, why not arrest and prosecute (or just deport) for being illegal? Breaking the law is breaking the law, regardless of financial factors or the time it takes to enforce.

  • I want to know the cash price on some of the tv's at rent-a-center, but no prices listed?

Are there any employees from rentacenter that know the cash price of some tv's? I don't want to go in or call because I don't want any sales pressure. Pricing plain and simple. Is that possible?

  • If I take a rent to own type business to small claims court,?

how much can I ask for?

I took out a sofa set from one of these places in 2006. In jan 2008 I asked to see a copy of my contract as I felt that it should've been paid off by then. After much procrastination, they gave me a copy of one. I refused to pay further as my signature was not on it. In March of 2009 I found my copy of the contract (signed). Just as I thought, I had already overpaid this place by over 100.00. They had given me a contract that had a longer time of paying in 2008 and for more money. Plain and simple fraud and I have both contracts as proof. I'm really sick and tired of these stores breaking the law so how much can I ask for in small claims? My actual damages are just over 100.00 but they harrassed me for a payment that I didn't even owe and tried to make me believe I still owed with a bogus contract. I know they have penalties for this but some help please.

  • Do Rent-A-Center customers know when the price listed on the contract exceeds what the law allows?

Rac cannot charge you whatever they want. Every state is different but here's an example for Californians:

The cash price (which is the price you can purchase the item from the store for) cannot exceed (for a new item) 1.65, 1.7 or 1.9 times more than the store actually paid for it. Depends on what you are renting.

The total of payments (for a new item) cannot exceed 2.25 times more than the cash price.

If the item is used, the price drops according to previous rent already paid by others.

If you think you are being overcharged, start doing some research on the law in your state.

  • Does anyone else agree with me when I say that people like "Lil Rascal" only sound like brainless aholes?

And that racist comments like his do nothing to help those of us with legitimate concerns regarding illegal immigration?

  • Why do so many people jump to calling legal u.s. citizens "racist" when discussing illegals ?

I'm sick of being called racist or hearing about how the land was stolen from the indians. I'm not racist and I didn't steal any land from anyone. I was born a u.s. citizen and so were my parents. I've lived here paying into this country my entire life. Illegals have not. And a large portion of them never bother to try to become legal. So why should my taxes ensure them all the free housing, medical, food, welfare, tutoring, etc. when I can't even get free anything when I need it?

And we're living in the present so don't bother with comments about what was done before my time and try using some common sense when responding. Do you go around giving out free money when you don't have any? Why should the u.s. for illegals? It frustrating to see illegals get a free pass on our dollar when the gov., etc. won't give legal citizens a break.
