  • Separated parents; one dies with no will?

I'm an only child, and my mom passed away with no will. My parents have been separated for years but never divorced. Me and my dad both agree that my mother would have wanted me to be in charge of taking care of her estate. But do I need to get anything from my dad in writing saying that he agrees to have me be the executor/conservator?

  • What would you be willing to do?

I never ask this when I'm casting or consulting on a show, so I'll ask it here: How hard do you think you should have to work to "make it" acting? And by "make it" I mean the pie-in-the-sky definition: Fame, fortune, etc. What would you be willing to do? What would you give up? And would you do it for the guarantee of "making it", or just for the chance to do a final audition for that killer part?

  • Worst audition outfits ever?

Just looking for funny stories here. What's the worst outfit you've ever seen someone wear to an audition? Please specify film, theatre or dance.

I'd really appreciate some stories to share with my class.

    Thank you!

  • Acting that has left you rattled?

What acting experiences and/or character roles have left you just so rattled, maybe emotionally drained, that you felt you had just given the most you had ever given to a performance?

My reason for asking is that I'm curious if people think only tragic performances can produce that result. No particular answer I'm looking for here, just any stories or experiences, please share.

    Thanks!!

  • Disruptive in my acting class?

I teach an acting class for HS students, and one of the students is clearly in it just because he's another student's boyfriend. My class takes some concentration, I give out exercises and "homework", and I really work on lessons built up from previous classes. On good days this guy does nothing. On bad days, he tries to make out, leaves to get high and come back yammering about how something someone did is "lame" or "sucks".

Here's my question: I am ready to give this guy's parents their money back and ask him to leave, but that would mean losing two students, not one. I don't want to lose the other student because she's really trying, most of the time. I've tried talking to him, but he's beyond reasoning and I just don't have time to coddle him. Before I go and just dismiss him, anyone have any ideas?
