English, but it was not hard to follow. The hymns are the same ones we sing in our Lutheran church--only the language was different. It seems that the European royals (other than the U.K.) are more informal and not "stand-offish" with their subjects. They even showed emotion during the ceremony. The U.K representatives ( Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex) were never shown during the entire five hours, although I assume they were there. Why are the British so much more unsmiling, rigid and untouchable?
