When she wants attention, needs to go outside, wants under the blankets, needs me to move over so she can lay with me - my 1 year old Havanese makes little noises. Its sort of a low whine/bark. Does anyone else's dog do this? Is this a Havanese trait? Its adorable, but annoying if you are sleeping.

I am planning my first trip to PV for late Jan/Early Feb 2010. I want to do the all inclusive thing for 10 days. My questions are: Does anyone know of a good hotel that is clean, offers activities (can cost $ above all inclusive), is quiet, not over run with partying singles, will be relaxing, but not too boring. I am not one to sit and get drunk or spend 10 full days on a beach. I want to get out and see and do things, but I also want to be able to relax when at the hotel. A oceanview room is a must and I have always wanted to stay somewhere with a swim up bar. This is my first all inclusive vacation, but have travelled quite a bit otherwise. Thanks for all replies. Is PV the best place for me and my hubby to go?

I have a 5 month old Havanese. I have had her since she was 8 weeks old. She is an absolute sweetie, but I have a few questions about some things she does. First a bit of information...

She is scheduled to be spayed in August, when she is 6 months old. I have a 6 year old female spayed Bichon too and they are best friends. I rescued the Bichon at 8 months old. No previous puppy experience.

my questions are: she seems to be frightened of her reflection and barks at herself if she sees her reflection in the fridge, fireplace.. etc...Is this normal puppy behavior? She can be quite vocal around other dogs. I walk her regularly and have taken her to off leash parks, but due to my fear of bigger dogs attacking her, off leash is not my favorite place to go. Does she need to be socialized more? She chews my books if I do not put them up high enough. She has a lot of chew treats and toys, but books seem to be her favorite.

I have used the spray bottle thing when she barks, but she thinks its a game and loves water. I have the bitter yuk stuff and it works at times to prevent her from chewing stuff she shouldn't. She is potty trained, knows sit, down, off, etc.

any input is greatly appreciated.. thanks in advance

My brand new puppy has been eating Innova puppy dry (she does not seem to like the canned puppy). My older dog eats Innova canned and dry. My puppy ate some of her canned and seemed to love it. Can I feed her the adult canned? or is it bad for her? or Should I mix both the canned puppy and canned adult, just so she eats it?

My Vet said on a scale of 1 - 4 (4 being the worst), my Pup is a 4. I have an older dog also and am now having to treat her, just in case. My question is, what are the chances of me or my husband getting them? Both dogs will be on medication for 2 weeks. 1 pill now, another in 14 days. Has anyone else had any experience with this? I am most unhappy.

I am looking for a healthy dog food that is made in Canada. I was going to go with Innova, but it is made in the USA, which is fine, but I would prefer to buy Canada made.
