I have a 150cc motorcycle under TamilNadu registration in Chennai. I need to transport it safely to Bangalore, Karnataka. How do i do that?

Also, I've heard people say that I need to get a permit. Could somebody brief me what it is, the procedure to obtain a permit and where/how to get it.
