  • Returning my Glasses?

Hello. About 1 week ago I went to my optometrist for my yearly check. I got my glasses today, and something just felt wrong. After some time being there, I began to feel really dizzy. I thought it would go away by now (about 6 hrs after I got them) but I feel sick to my stomach still. Would they accept a refund, most likely? In addition to this, (I don't know why I wasn't more careful when picking out my frames, my fault) I changed my mind about the frame. So, most likely, would they give me the same pair of glasses, or may I pick some with a different frame?

    Thanks!

  • Bottom-left side of mouth hurts after wisdom teeth extraction?

I had my 4 wisdom teeth extracted about 4 days ago, and I have been following the instructions: eating soft foods, rinsing with warm salt water, taking painkillers, etc.

But my bottom-left side of my mouth still hurts, should I be worried? The right side of my mouth is fine. But my left side feels swollen, i can't open my jaw enough, and the pain seems to radiate to my ear.

  • Clarification on this question?

I am so confused on what this is asking. Can anyone break this prompt down so I can determine how I can go about writing it? Any help is greatly appreciated!

We have talked at length about the rage of Juno in the Aeneid. Ovid similarly bases his collection of “disastrous love affairs” in the Metamorphoses on the rage of love and desire. One could thus argue convincingly that the most influential Roman poets viewed gods and goddesses in a more pessimistic manner than their Greek counterparts. Citing one example from each writer (Virgil and Ovid), discuss what you find to be a disconcerting moment of divine irrationality

  • A Chemistry question that I'm stumped on?

I usually get chemistry, but this question confuses me really bad. I'm not sure if I have a brain fart or what, but it would be awesome if I get step by step solutions to see what's going on.

A 9.357-g sample of a solid was placed in a 25.00mL flask. The remaining volume was filled with water, in which the solid is insoluble. The solid and the water together weigh 27.335 g. The density of the benzene is 0.997 g/mL. What is the density of the solid?

    Thanks!!

  • Food politics and Social Classes?

Hello. For my college English class, we have to do a 7-page research paper of anything related to food politics, whether it be organic vs. inorganic, obesity, diseases, etc.

It has to be a topic that some people disagree about. However, I do not want to write this research paper on the common things, such as organic vs. inorganic.

I want to write something that has to do something between social class and food politics, but i have no idea what the question will be. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!

  • Would like to get clarified one problem and...?

I need help on the other one. This is Calculus, btw.

    17) lim x-->0 [1/(x+1)]-1/x. I got the answer to be -1. i don't know, though

    This is what did:

i multiplied each side by the denominator so i can get a common denominator on both sides. I ended up with this:

    --1/1((x+1) - 1(x+1)/(x+1) all divided by x

I crossed out the ones on the first part and i distributed the negative sign to get:

    -- -x-1/(x+1)*1/(x+1) all divided by x

Then, magically i got rid of the "all divided by x" part and distributed the numerator, and i do not know what i did to the denominator, and i got:

    --- -x-1/(x+1) to get -1.

Some of the steps i did i don't even know if they are correct.

And this one i have no clue on:

    lim Δx-->0 sin[(pi/6)+Δx] - (1/2) / Δx

    Thanks for the help!!!

  • Is this the correct answer?

I don't know if this is how you do this question.

    1. Simplify 0=x^2+3x+5.

    -I did the quadratic formula, and got x=-3 +or- sqrt( 3^2-4(1)(5)/ 2*1

    -I simplified it, and got x=-3 +or - sqrt( -11)/ 2

( i guessed on the following part)

    - x=-3 +or- i*sqrt(-11) /2

and my final answer was: x=-3/2 - i*sqrt(-11)/2

    Any help would be appreciated!

  • Need clarification on 2 math questions?

These 2 questions i am so confused on:

    1. Simplify 0=x^2+3x+5. I tried to factor them out and i couldn't and did the quadratic formula but i got stuck...

Apparently, i got this one wrong.

    2. Evaluate the following expression:

    tan(sec^-1(25/7)).

I had no clue; i plugged it in the calculator and got undefined, but something seems really wrong.

  • Need clarification on 3 math questions?

I would like to know if i got this problem correct:

Consider the equation 5x+7y=35 and 4x+ky=-27, what does the value of k have to be in order for the lines to be perpendicular?

    1. i solved for y on the second equation, and got -4x/k as a slope.

    2. I solved for y on the first equation and got y=-5x/7 as a slope and did the reciprocal and got 7x/5.

    3. I cross multiplied and solved for k and got k=-20/7

These other 2 questions i am so confused on:

    1. Simplify 0=x^2+3x+5. I tried to factor them out and i couldn't and did the quadratic formula but i got stuck...

    2. Evaluate the following expression:

  • Can i still enter an AP class now?

So, i made the mistake of taking regular physics for my senior year. Now, i want to take AP Physics B. Is there any way i could still enter that class, even if school starts in 2 weeks? I have access to the summer assignment, so it wouldn't take me less than a day to finish it.
