What do you do with a friend like this?
I have a friend named Melissa, who I've known for over 5 years. We met because our husbands were roommates in college. She has never acted like a good friend but I still see her about every other month because we hang out with the same group of people. What really bugs me is that she is always inviting me to do stuff with her or her and her husband, but when I call her to make plans, she backs out. This has been going on for years. It's driving me crazy because it's like I'm constantly being rejected by her. I used to want to become better friends with her but now I could care less. The problem is that I still see her in pretty regularly, and that won't change because it would mean that we would never see our other friends. My question is - the next time she fake-invites me to hang out, do I call her on it? Should I tell her to stop? Or just keep ignoring her? Bonus question - why would someone act like this?!?
6 AnswersFriends1 decade agoWhat could be wrong with my car?
I have a 2000 Honda Accord v6 coupe with 120,000 miles on it. Lately when I drive it at high speeds, like 40 mph or higher, there is a loud sound coming from the front of the car and the floor below my feet vibrates a lot. The sound gets louder the faster I go. Any ideas what could be causing this? I've had such bad luck with repair shops that I would really appreciate knowing what the problem is before I take it in.
6 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoDo you call your in-laws all the time?
I'm just wondering because I never call my in-laws and they never call me. My husband doesn't want to call them either (they are always unloading their problems on him) so now they are getting upset and complaining that we never call them. His mom even went as far to suggest that I was telling my hubby not to call them on purpose! What do you think, am I in the wrong here?

When I incorporated I decided to have one main name and also another name for my business to operate under. Does it matter which one I use when I do my taxes?

10 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoHow to tell my friends that I want them to be employees and not partners?
I'm starting a design company with two of my friends and tomorrow we're working on our business plan together. I know that the issue of everyone's role in the company will come up. The truth is that this company was my idea and I brought them in because they have talent and expressed an interest. I also know that in about a year I will be able do quit my current job and dedicate all my time to helping this business succeed, while they will probably not be able to give so much time. I'm not sure how to tell them that I think they should be my employees and not my partners without making them lose interest in building the business. I've read that partnerships always fail because creative vision gets lost when there are too many people trying to lead. How can I tactfully tell them that I still want them to have fun and make money but that I should be the sole owner of the company we're starting together?
6 AnswersSmall Business1 decade agoDo I need to incorporate again?
I incorporated my web design business earlier this year. Now I'm interested in starting a new business that uses a different name and is in a slightly different industry (print design). I was wondering, can I use the corporation I've already formed as a sort of umbrella company, so I can save my self the expense of having to incorporate my new business? Or do I need to incorporate again?
4 AnswersSmall Business1 decade agoWhat can I do to help my mother-in-law?
I also asked this question in the Family section but I figured I might get more mature answers here.
My mother-in-law has been working 80+ hours a week in order to support her daughter and her family. Every time I see her she just looks exhausted and angry. She was close to retirement but thanks to her daughter she is going into debt. Now her daughter, who is 31 years old, just announced that her family is moving back in with her mother. She also has a 2 year old daughter and a husband who hasn't had a steady job in years. My mother in-law was not happy with this idea but is going along with it because she feels that it's in the best interest of her granddaughter. So my question is, what can I do to help my mother in-law? I don't think she should keep enabling her daughter by giving her money but I don't like to see her suffer like this either!

I bought mine at Jean M. I'm just wondering if most brides get theirs online or somewhere local or if they print their own.
