I am trying out for West Side Story (my school's musical this year) and am auditioning for Tony. The problem is that we need a monologue that captures the character we want to be and a song that should show off our range, but the song should also be a musical theater song not from West Side Story.

That's where you come in. Basically I can only think of Romeo and Juliet monologues and I don't know many musical theater songs. For my monologue, I am looking mainly for something soft and laced with emotion, but at the same time with a confidence and maybe somewhat of a cocky facade. I don't need specific lines or anything, but if you can suggest some characters and where they are from I would appreciate that, too.

As for the song, so far I really can only think of Singing in the Rain or (less likely) Defying Gravity. Mainly that's because they are all I know... So give me some suggestions. I am a tenor, but a bit more of a baritone and I still want something that shows that I could pull off Tony's songs. I'm open to anything.

The auditions are this Thursday and we were just told about this new monologue thing in the audition process, so please, help!

My laptop shuts off randomly. Sometimes after a few hours and sometimes after a few minutes. I don't know why, but it does. Any ideas as to why or (even better) ways to possibly fix it?

I recently found out that one of my best friends might be moving away and it is making me and another one of our friends very depressed. I don't know what to do, I doubt anything I say will make a difference if he does have to move. I know we can still probably keep in touch, but it just won't be the same and we may not be able to see each other for a LONG time if he moves. Just the thought of him moving is depressing and I don't know what to do.

I am trying to get some good ideas for a "Multicultural fair" at school. It is a limited space and just small visits at each station. Our group is doing Japanese so any help with decoration ideas, recepies, anything just please give me some ideas!
