  • Why do I always crave sugar at the same time every day?

In general I try to eat a healthy diet of unprocessed whole foods (protein, fat, vegetables, fruit, nuts and a little bit of whole grains). I exercise two to three times a week and I'm a young woman in good shape. I'm trying to rid my diet of highly processed foods like sugar but every day at 4-5pm I crave it intensely and when a craving hits no amount of reasoning or logic can pull me away from a honey bun or hot chocolate, and it sabotages a whole day of otherwise healthy eating. So I'm wondering if I can pinpoint the trigger and find ways to prevent myself. I've also tried distracting myself and drinking water and tea but it doesn't help. Any suggestions?

  • Why do some homosexual people discriminate against straight people?

I grew up with a group of about 8 gay/lesbian friends I was very close to and considered my best friends. When I started dating men they isolated me and picked on me for being straight. Maybe in their minds it was all light hearted fun but it actually hurt that they would outcast me for my sexuality whether it was mainstream or not, I find the whole thing very ironic because I was actually very supportive of them and also was there for them when they came out to their families and never once said hurtful things. Obviously our relationships drifted apart but I want to know why some gay people find it okay to pick on straight people

  • Why do people always tell others not to drink on an empty stomach?

This makes no sense to me. I always drink on an empty stomach so that it takes less alcohol for me to feel a buzz. That way, I only need one glass of wine or 1-2 beers max to feel the same buzz if I would've eaten a full meal and had twice as much alcohol. And on top of that I saved myself tons of calories and maybe even some liver damage

  • How do I get my puppy to walk?

I have a 7 month old French bull dog. When I bring him outside on the sidewalk he freezes, shakes, and stares at me or looks around me licks his lips nervously. This could go on for an hour before I give up and carry him back home. He ignores treats bc he is nervous and if I pull his leash or harness he digs his feet into the ground and gets more scared. I'm having a trainer come this weekend but I highly doubt even he will be able to deal with this. I've tried researching training methods to deal with this but they don't work for him bc he is too nervous to learn, pay attention, or take treats. Scolding him doesn't work either. It's been 4 months now and it's gettig very frustrating, I would appreciate any ideas. Thank you!

  • What to do about a neighbor's potentially vicious dog?

I live in a semi attached home and I share the side that has a 2 foot wide alleyway with my neighbor, who owns a 2 year old pit bull. I have personally never seen this dog attack anyone but It does growl at me and my small dog and I can tell the dog is usually very hyper, tense and out of control. Once in a while my neighbors elderly mother comes to walk the dog and he's knocked her over so she obviously has no control over him, and even when her son walks him that dog drags him around the block. I'm starting to worry that while me and my dog are making our way to and from the backyard we'll run into their dog in the same alleyway and that he could potentially attack one of us. I know to relax and not overreact to him but anything could happen. I'm in NY- are there any measures I could take to protect myself and my dog?
