  • how do these three words connect in U.S. History?

    Tenant

    Confiscate

    Emancipation

By the looks of it, all three are from different chapters in my book. Which is why it isn't adding up to me. But I'n guessing the time period is like 1820's-1860's.

    Don't say "use google"

Did it. Still confused. Help if you can! Thanks.

  • Who was the first presidential candidate of the republican party? democratic?

My professor's packet isn't clear and I am getting two answers when I research it. Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson. So who is it?

And if Fremont the first candidate for the democratic party? I'm pretty sure he is but he isn't in my packet AT ALL. So I don't know why she would ask... but his name sounds familiar, like she mentioned it in a power point in a previous chapter.

real answers now, come on. Don't "use google" me. I have been. I'm double checking before I make a fool of myself in class.

  • how are these words related?

    Tenant, emancipation and confiscate.

I know what they all mean but I have to give a lecture over them in history class and the professor says they all connect... but I can't think of how.

I'm not even sure which chapter these were part of anymore cause we did it so long ago... but I'd say they deal with early 1800s to mid.

Help please. :( and was John Fremont the first democratic candidate? I think he was... but I dont see him AT ALL in my book. but I recall his name on one of the professor's early power points.

  • Attempting to write a song for fun...?

    Give me some critical advice.

    The time is now

    I can feel it coming.

Oh god, how long must I suffer

end it all and I forever vow

My soul is yours, my loyalty stays.

To have this service, just take this pain away

    The dagger piercing my flesh

recieved by a band of poor heartless thieves

They've Taken my wallet, kicked out my teeth

and left me hear to die

please someone, give me some relief

    A black shadowed figure

    ejects the bloody knife

tells me to stand as he debates my death over my life.

    I've taken my last breath

Walking side by side with death

No pulse, no warmth, now I'm sure I've died.

You did your part, the torture has ended

but as I run away laughing, I tell you I've lied.

    I got away

    I cheated Death

    I cheated life

I'm inbetween and untouched by the scythe.

That's as far as I got. hah

  • How can I get rid of wrinkles and dark circles under my eyes?

I am only 17 years old but I have very dark circles under my eyes as well as wrinkles. My mother has dark circles too so I am guessing it's genetics. I have had them for a long time. I started wearing make up when I was about 13 years old. I hardly ever payed attention to washing it off until this year. I was lazy with it, thinking it wouldn't be a problem. I suppose that is the cause of the wrinkles. Now, every night right when I get off of work I wash my make up off with warm water and St. Ives apricot scrub. I rinse it off, dry off and rub vaseline on my face. I am starting to see improvements in the wrinkles I think but not the circles of course. Any suggestions? cheap hopefully.

  • Xbox corrupted profile help!?

I just bought Portal 2 like an hour ago. I started to play it and it wouldn't let me save, saying something about my profile wasn't there or an update was downloaded wrong. I restarted it 3 tmes with the same out come, then switched profiles and it worked just fine.

My account becomes corrupted only when I go to save the game. But if I restart it it is just fine.

If I delete my account and attempt to recover it (my brother set this up for me last year and we're not sure if the information if correct :/ ) will I get all of my game saves back and everything?!

  • Is this even legal? Texas wage laws for a "trainy"?

I just recently started working at my new job at Dairy Queen in Texas on June 28th. I am 16 years old. My managers tell me that for the first 3 months I will only be making 6.00$ an hour. Is that even legal? I could understand if it were for maybe a week but 3 months? They already have me at the cash register, I can make all the ice creams. I am not allowed in the kitchen though, they keep the males cooking. Apparently everyone went through this but I was just thinking maybe no one stood up and asked.

  • "find the moleculs of oxygen givenn 73.56 grams of oxygen gas." is it 2.76?

I want to make sure I am doing it right before I continue to study...

so I took 73.56 grams and muliplyed it by 1 (mole) and 6.02x10^23 (Avigadro's number)

then I took the product I got from that (4.4283 ect) and divided it by the product I got from...

multilpying 15.99 (grams of 1 oxygen) and 1 (mole) which of course is 15.99...

sooo! (the calculator on my phone says 4.428312E+25/15.99 but I am not sure what the E+25 is) 4.42/15.99=2.76

  • Opinions on my political cartoon idea? quick answers please?

So I have been given the topic "Women's suffrage" for my history project. I need a visual aid to present and I chose to create a political cartoon. However, when I introduced the idea to my friend she chuckled and said some might see it as racist.

I plan on drawing a man who is holding the curtain to the voting booth with a startled expression because there is a woman behind him with her arms crossed and her expression is angry. Behind the woman would be a black man (since blacks gained the right to vote around this time as well). Behind the black man would be a dirty old man with a cane, (to represent the right of voting going to the homeless and elderly.) behind the old man would be a small monkey and then a smaller monkey. (evolution)

It's supposed to be comically comparing the right to vote to evolution, since over time voting became a right to all citizens.

What are your thoughts? Do you sense some might find racism in this as well? I am concerned because of the lack of maturity in that class, everyone is always trying to point something out. Because my friend pointed it out before I even drew it, it leaves me wondering even more.

a few sanity not included and ray william johnson videos.

  • Do I have some kind of sleeping disorder? like parasomnia?

So last night I was asleep. I was sleeping magnificantly but then I suddenly woke up for no reason.

I woke up dripping in sweat. My heart was racing, I couldn't catch my breath, I felt the weight on my chest, like someone was sitting on top of me and holding my arms down. I opened my eyes and everything was pitch black. I closed my eyes for a few seconds and when I reopened them I could see the dimness of my room, light provided from the street light outside but limited from the dark certains. Right above me was a transparent black figure with it's hands out near it's head. it's fingers were long, very long and came to a point. I still couldn't move or breathe. I closed my eyes again and felt the weight come off of me.

I opened my eyes and nothing was there, I layed there for a few seconds trying to fgure out why I couldn't move. then I heard a loud knock on my door and suddenly I was able to move. I got up to turn on the light and the bulb burned out (what are the odds?!) I opened the door and no one was there. So I went to the rest room to wash my face and I went back to my bed. I layed there for about 20 minutes dripping in sweat yet shivering very strongly from the cold, and my stomach was killing me, my heart was still racing and my breathing was getting better. I got up unable to sleep and felt the urge to walk down the hall, back to my room, back down the hall, back to my room, I did it like 6 times and then I went to sleep like nothing ever happened?

Am I crazy? I am not lying! I told my step dad and he laughed and thought I was joking.

btw, this isn't the first time something like this has happened, but it's always after I just wake up.

I am not on any medication. My childhood... was very bad.

these kinds of things only happen to me when I sleep or right when I wake up.

  • Does anyone speak french?

We have this new student from some part of Africa and he doesn't speak english. A lot of the girls in our class surrounded him and tried to speak to him (of course). I could see the frustration and embarrassment in his eyes so I walked over, placed my hand on his shoulder and smiled so he knew I meant well. He smiled back so I knew I had gained his confidence so I reached over him and typed in google on the computer he was using, I pulled up google translate, "english to french" and then I typed "You can type write what you want to tell us here." and pointed at the french translation.

I changed it to "french to english"

he did, and had a lot of fun with it. He asked to add me on facebook so I told him my name and later he added me. He im-ed me "tu es la" i translated it and it's "you're the..." but that obviously doesn't make sense. Maybe he means I'm the one who helped him? or did it translate wrong?

  • What do you think of these poems?

Head throbbing, mind numbing, eye drying sadness.

dispersing of the selfless characteristics of humanity.

The innocense of our kind is passed us.

The search for fabled trust, Slowly drives us to insanity.

The screams of desperation ignored by most people

For we all fixate on their own misfortunes

happiness? HA! it's just "a needle in a haystack"

Mocking our search,... but we all remain inexorable.

With our minds set on finding merriment, we abandon what we know

and find ourselves completely lost and alone.

With no one to turn to.... and no where to go.

    Our worst fears become reality,

trapped in our own guilty minds...

our thoughts, now an agonizing form of mental brutality.

In a daze with twisted figures and broken dialects...

a fate we meet... far worse than death.

A deathlike silence fills the air,

only to be broken by your last breath.

    The lonely eyes are crying.

    The lonely eyes are sad.

As they look around, nothing makes them glad.

    The lonely eyes are screaming,

    The lonely eyes are scared.

For as they search for life, no one seems to care

    The lonely eyes are grey

and although they ache for change,.....

    Alone,... they’re here to stay.

they belong to a woman, a woman old and wise.

And when a man asked the woman…

“do you wish for better eyes?”

    The lonely eyes are inept

    Darkness is all they see

    The woman smiled and said

“they may not work, my lonely eyes.

but these mean much to me.

With old age, I have gone blind

the beautiful colors and bright starry nights

Are now just pictures in my mind,

But years ago, My eyes spotted my true love,”

The curious man had to ask “where is this man?”

And the woman smiled and pointed up above,

“he’s gone now, his time was lived.

    But I am not alone,

my lonely eyes have tired out, but with them I am home.

As a young girl, the young boy said “they twinkle in the light.”

That young boy became my love,

and made my life so bright.

I posted these before but got no answers, also I have fixed them to sound better.

    what do you think?
