washing partially cornrow braided hair?
I'm getting about 4 cornrows braided on the side of my hair this weekend. I have very soft hair so they'll be using the Aqua Wax. I was wondering how I should go about washing my hair. Usually you use a hair net but since I'm only getting a few braids the rest of my hair can be washed normally. How do I protect the braided pieces while washing the rest of my hair?
2 AnswersHair6 years agowifi connects to iphone but not macbook?
We recently updated to uverse at our house. Everything was fine until today when I got home from school. My Macbook won't connect to wifi. It's not even trying it just says there is no connection. The wifi is connected to my iPhone and I'm able to be on the Internet from my desktop which the router is connected to. I tried unplugging the router and replugging it in and also restarting my computer but nothing is working. I also tried the network diagnostics and such that the laptop offers for troubleshooting your internet connection. I need my laptop and Internet to do my coursework. Anything else I can try?
PS: I have a Macbook OSX

4 AnswersHorses10 years agoquestion about birth control?
My friend was on birth control for three months. She started at the beginning of May. She went through three light periods and then stopped taking it on July 10th. She had sex on July 13th and he came inside her, no condom. She thought she was okay because she was on the pill for those three months but I said that since she stopped taking it there could be a chance she could be pregnant. She's due for her period at the beginning of August.
Is there a chance that she could be pregnant because of these circumstances?

I have two Wii remotes and a Wii Balance Board used for Wii fit. None of them will sync with my Wii. The lights don't come on or anything. The sensor bar is good, and I've tried resyncing, changing batteries, unplugging the Wii, everything.
Do you think it's an internal problem in my console?
4 AnswersNintendo Wii10 years agoneed some help with my geometry?
The directions say: The surface areas of two similar figures are given. The volume of the larger figure is given. Find the volume of the smaller figure.
Okay the two surface areas are 25cm^2 and 36cm^2. The volume of the larger is 216cm^3.
I know that the similarity ratio is 5:6.
How would I use the ratio to help me find the volume of the smaller figure?
2 AnswersHomework Help1 decade agomouthpiece/reed on saxophone?
My cousin just gave me her alto sax because I want to learn how to play. I did my research on how to put it together and everything, and supposedly when you put the reed on the mouthpiece and tighten it with the ligature, that the reed should close evenly with the mouthpiece. Well, mine isn't. There is a space inbetween the reed and mouthpiece. I'll attach a picture, though it isnt the best.

Tim is 4 ft from a lamppost that is 12 ft high. Tim is 5.5 ft tall. How long is Tim's shadow? (Round your answer to the nearest hundredth)
We've been studying proportions so does anyone know the proportion I would use to solve this?
I tried it and I did 5.5 over x = 4 over 12 and I got 16.5 as my answer, but that seems wrong to me.
Anyone care to help? :]
2 AnswersMathematics1 decade agowhat kind of flute should I get?
I've had my flute for 5 years. It's a Borg silver plated, closed hole C flute that I got for a hundred dollars from BJs. It was a good investment, and a cheap one not knowing if I'd like playing. I've had it fixed numerous times and now it's just not working properly and it's time for a new one.
I need some suggestions. On the cheaper side, please! I can't spend like $800 on a flute, I don't have that much money to spend. I need a fairly cheap flute, under like $400. Closed hole C flute.
Thanks in advance :]

This is a part of my story, and to me there's something wrong with it. I can't figure out what. Can someone help me?
“Thanks Shane,” I said as I hopped into my friend’s car.
Shane was my best friend since I could remember. We grew up together, and since my parents were murdered and I was living illegally on my own, he was my chauffer and best friend. In a normal family, after one of the child’s parents died, they would live with an aunt and uncle or their grandparents. My family wanted nothing to do with me. They could care less that a fifteen-year-old girl was living on her own, mooching money off of her friend, and barely getting an education.
Shane was not only my best friend, but also my only friend. Being socially awkward in a private prep school is not exactly the best. Shane was basically my shoulder to lean on, my bodyguard, my fake boyfriend when needed, and most importantly my personal check when tuition time came.
I was fifteen; too young to have a job, and like I said, my family wanted no part in me. Shane’s parents were under the impression that I was living with my Auntie Beth, who was a perfect guardian and took complete custody of me after my parents were murdered. They had no idea that Shane was stealing my tuition money from their safe, all $16,000 of it.

When I'm mentioning someone's height in my story, should I put:
6'2"
6 foot 2 inches
6 foot 2
six foot two inches
six foot two
Which one is correct?
11 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoDoes this bother anyone else?
I find it very ridiculous how when you answer someone elses question and give them constructive criticism or advice, someone else will give it a thumbs down if they don't agree. I personally think that is stupid seeing as its an opinion and it doesn't have to agree with other people answering. I see this on so many questions with people answering who give great advice or constructive criticism, and someone will give it a thumbs down. Does anyone else agree that this is stupid?
Also, I thought thumbs down was for like an answer not even pertaining to the question...?
13 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoRead the beginning of my story please?
I was lying in my bed looking at the ceiling. The stinging in my arm woke me up. I sat there perfectly still in order to keep my arm from moving, listening to the tree swiftly brushing up against my window. My heart began to beat faster and faster with every heavy breath I took. He was coming; I felt it. It was three days early and my body knew it. Every second that passed my muscles became sorer and my lungs could not help but to let out a piercing scream. I could hear his footsteps outside my window as he was approaching. I could see the leaves on the top of the tree moving unnaturally as he climbed his way up to my bedroom. By then I was in full agony; my hands were vibrating uncontrollably with every crack of a branch I heard. My head was pounding, getting lighter and closer to unconsciousness. I slowly stood up, trying to diminish the pain. The glass in the window exploded and scattered across my bedroom floor. In he came, with an evil smirk on his face. My legs gave out and I collapsed onto the floor. I quickly curled into a ball as far away from him as I could manage. He emerged from the darkness of the corner of my room and walked towards me. His leather boots shook the ground with every dreadful step he took. As he reached where I was coiled up, I let out an earsplitting wail. As his hand gradually neared my neck, I fell unresponsive.
When I awoke, I was lying naked on my bedroom floor. My legs were cut open and shards of glass from the window were on the floor, gleaming in the moonlight, coated with my blood. My legs were sore and so was my head. I gradually stood up and limped to my bedroom mirror. I began to see the black and blue handprint appear on my neck. I stared at my reflection that stared right back at me. Tears started streaming down my face. They turned red as they passed over bleeding cuts across my cheeks. My hands began to shake as I wiped the tears off my face. I remembered that I was naked and grabbed a new pair of pajamas from the second drawer in my dresser. I stumbled to the bathroom across the hallway from my room, quietly shut the door and turned on the light. I then saw a better look at my face in the mirror. My bruised and cut up face looked hastily at me. My dark brown hair was knotted, but still fell beautifully down to my breasts. The handprint was fully there, black and blue, scarring me for at least a week. I bent over to look at the cuts on my legs. The biggest one was on my calf and blood was pouring out of it. As I stood up to get a washcloth, I glanced in the mirror. I saw the smirk. The smirk that is forever painted into my brain. The one that haunts me before I fall asleep. Before I was able to turn around, I felt my body lifted off the ground and thrown into the bathtub. My head slammed against the bathtub wall and my body fell flat onto it's floor. I heard the door slam shut and his leather boots once again inch closer to me. I felt the blood spewing out of my head and my vision was blurred. The blood loss in my head was tremendous and I became extremely lightheaded. Before I could look up at him, my eyes shut and I was gone.
9 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoYour opinion on my opinion?
Does it bother anyone else that in the Books/Author section, people use bad grammar and punctuation? I think that if you're editing/talking about/giving advice on someone's writing that you should use good grammar and punctuation. I also find that bad grammar is difficult to read. Another thing is if someone asks a question and 'their talkin lyk dis' I just leave their question- they obviously (in my opinion) don't care enough to take the time to properly write it. Does anyone else agree?
