Confused about digital camera lingo?
I'm obviously not a professional photographer or anything, but I'm looking to buy a decent camera. (Or at least a camera whose amazingness can make up for what I lack in photography savvy.)
I've come across these 2 Canon cameras which I really like and have decent reviews. I guess I'm just confused becuase I thought the best part of the camera is the Megapixels, but then why is the 10 MP camera so much more than the 14 MP camera? What are the other major features that make up a good camera?
Here's the 2 cameras I'm debating against:
6 AnswersCameras1 decade agoWhat sippy cup/ trainer cup does your 18 month old use?
I've bought and tried a few but none of them seem to be "the one". So I thought I'd ask you mommas!
Thanks in advance!!!
1 AnswerToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoWhat double stroller do you use?
What kind is it and would you recommend it?
I like the Graco Quattro but its soo expensive and looks bulky. So we are leaning towards the Baby Trend Sit to Stand Stroller. Our boys will be 20 months a part. =)
1 AnswerOther - Pregnancy & Parenting1 decade agoMommas to "signing babies"?
Did you find potty training easier and/ or faster since your child knew how to sign?
My son knows a few signs which is great, but I was looking into potty training stuff and I came across a website that teaches kids to use the potty by teaching them sign language. They claimed children potty trained easier and faster. Also they claimed you could VERY easily potty train your child before the age of 2 by using signs! I was very intrigued and wanted to hear some stories from real mommies!
3 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoDo you think this High Chair is worth the price?
We are preggo with #2 and compiling a list of things we need to re buy. One item I really want is a nice high chair. With our first son my MIL bought a simple booster seat that had a tray. We began feeding our son solids at 4 months and he just seemed sooo uncomfortable in it, we had to put blankets in it to keep him from tipping over and for comfort. He didnt act like he liked it until he was 9 months old. Since money is tight my husband says we should just buy another booster seat with a tray since its cheap and worked with our first. Maybe my nesting instinct is outta control but I did some research and I think this would be the best buy for us! Its a Graco 4-1 high chair! Not only will it grow with our child (and future children) but it can even seat 2 kids at once! Which is a plus because our boys will be 20 months apart! Heres a link to the high chair i am talking about: http://blog.gracobaby.com/2009/03/13/the-new-graco...
Heres the catch, its $180 which I agree is pricey! But I have a 20% off coupon plus free shipping so it knocks the price to $140 which I think is do-able. Would you pay that price for this high chair if you had 2 kids under 2 years old?

However you still have to pay the $9.95 for shipping. They also only have about 6 choices to choose from but I think they are all very cute and I have only seen used nursing covers at this price. Anyways if you're in the market, here ya go!

1 AnswerPregnancy1 decade agoWhich of these 3 boys names do you like and why?
First of all thanks to everyone who have been answering all of my wild baby name questions. Since we found out we're expecting another boy, we have been a bit obsessed about giving the little guy a name. Some of these names you have probably seen me post a few times, but that jsut means we still really like them! =)
Jaxton- (Jacks-tun)- love the uniquness of this name! kind of a variation of the names Jack and Jackson. Also the nickname "Jax" is pretty cool.
Tyman- (pronounced like Simon but with a T) I love that this name is a variation of the name Simon which I think is a very wholesome name. Other pluses are that it means "one who honors God" and the nickname "Ty"!
Connley- (con-lee)- this name I feel is also very wholesome and sweet. Funny thing was I first saw it on freight trucks while on a road trip and thought "I kinda like that name", well 2 days later we found out we were pregnant! lol This is the hubby's personal fave.
So what do you think? He will have an older brother whose name is Kaiden West.
Feel free to throw out some middle names. We prefer 1 syllables for the middle name.
Thanks again everyone!
17 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoWhat are your favorite boys names that you have found?
We are expecting another boy in April and are looking for ideas and suggestions. =) We like modern and unique names that are "manly."
Our first son's name is Kaiden West.
The names we're considering so far are Connley (con-lee), Jaxton (jacks-tun) and Emerson.
9 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoHow would you spell the name (con-lee)?
There are soo many ways! We really like the name and want to know what the best way to spell it would be! 2 syllables (con-lee). =) Thanks!
Connley
Conley
Conlay
Connolly
Connlley
etc.
and any other way you could think of to spell it.
9 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoDid you ever have a dream about the sex/ gender of your baby?
were you right or wrong?
We find out what baby number 2 is next week! Crazy thing is with our first I never had any dreams. With this one I've had 3 dreams of a boy early in pregnancy. And in the past month I've had 2 dreams it was a girl. (no its not twins! lol) In one dream I was at the ultrasound place and the technician was pointing out the girl parts!
I'd be happy with either gender obviously. But I've always found the idea of dreams being linked to the subconcious to be interesting!
3 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoWhat are you getting your significant other for Christmas this year!?
My husband is sooooo hard to shop for. He never complains that he needs anything and never acts like anything we have isn't good enough. He always acts as happy as can be with what he has. lol I wish he would drop hints or something!
He likes hot chocolate, more than any person I know! So I'm thinking about his big gift being a hot chocolate maker. Can you suggest any small gifts to add? And what are you getting your significant other for Christmas?
4 AnswersOther - Pregnancy & Parenting1 decade agoDo you like the boy's name Callister?
I just heard the name Callister tonight on t.v. and I'm kinda lovin' it! Haha. Husband isn't too keen on it so we probably won't use it, but what do you think?
7 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoCan anyone tell me if the board game "Small World" by Days of Wonder?
would be considered a "family game?"
We want to buy a fun an unique game for our sister and her family. They have a 14 year old boy a 12 year old girl and a 6 year old girl.
I assume the 6 yr old may need help with a game like this but do you think they would all enjoy it?
Are the directions fairly easy to catch on to? Maybe you have a better suggestion for a family game?
Thanks everyone in advance!!

2 AnswersOther - Pregnancy & Parenting1 decade agoOkay random but did you ever have sex dreams when you were pregnant?
I never have sex dreams and I never did with my first pregnancy. But for some reason this pregnancy has got my sleeping hormones all wild! lol. It's funny because they usually involve my husband or famous actors like Vin Diesel or Brad Paisley or Leonardo DiCaprio. I feel guilty and tell my hubby about them and he gets mad, haha. Has this happened to you? Does anyone know what causes this?
****Bonus Question: I'm wondering if the gender of your baby has something to do with it, so during the pregnancies you did have sex dreams were you preggo with a boy or a girl?
Thanks!!!
9 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoIs it true that if you have a tipped uterus you will have more back labor?
I've heard this before and I was just curious as to its truthfulness. My uterus didnt tip backwards until after the bith of my son. I also hear that your uterus will straighten back to where it should be by 12 weeks so can you explain to me why it would cause more back labor? Thanks!
2 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoHave you ever dreamed of the sex of your baby and been right?
I hear that its an old wives tale that if you dream you are having a boy then you will have a girl and vice versa. lol. I dont take much stock in old wives tales but I found this one interesting since I dreamed we were having another boy last night. I'd be happy either way but I was just curious as to other's experience. Thank you!
8 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoOkay, who has a 4 in 1 crib?
Ive been thinking lately about converting our sons crib into the "toddler style" with the side rail. (Not any time soon, but in the near future) And got to thinking about changing his bedding. Although we love his crib bedding, his "quilt" is no where near big enough to use. What size bedding should I look to buy? Since it's still a crib mattress and all. I wasnt sure if "toddler bedding" was meant to fit a crib mattress or a twin mattress. Do you think I could fit a twin bedding set on it even though it will be a little big at least in length?
6 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoWould You Take a 13 month old to a Haunted Maze?
I really want to go and our son doesnt spook easy. In fact he loves all the costumes and things and the stores. He also thinks that someone jumping out at him from behind a door is soo funny! lol. Although I know my son will have fun, I cant help but wonder what other moms would think of this situation. I mean if we need to we can do the maze during the day when its not "haunted" or just hire a babysitter! Would you ever take a 13 month old to a haunted maze?
