  • Courses as a junior and senior?

I'm a sophomore and am deciding courses for junior and senior year. My passions are mostly in the social sciences including psychology, economics, law etc. I also enjoy chemistry but I already took honors chemistry so I don't know if I want to take AP Chemistry because I already learned a good amount of chemistry and would prefer to take new classes. Tell me what you think:

    Junior Year:

    Psychology AP

    English Electives (required)

    U.S. History AP

    Calculus AB AP

    Economics Honors (no AP class)

United States Government (no AP class)

    Senior Year:

    Art History AP

    English Literature AP

    Physics Honors (physics is required)

    U.S. Law

    Spanish 5 AP Language

    Multi-Varibale Calculus Honors

  • Good AP European History Research Topic?

Hi, I need a topic to write about a 6 page research paper for AP Euro. The only requirement is that it has to answer a question within the period of 1300-1815. I'm more interested in political or economic topics rather than social topics. Thanks for the help!!

  • Best option for schedule?

So, I'm going to be a sophomore next year and I'm having some trouble choosing my courses. The problem is that I am interested in majoring in economics in college but I do not know when to take the class. Also I am on student government so it might be possible for me to add AP Economics to the curriculum for next year since my school only offers Economics Honors as of now. Which is the best option?

    Option 1:

Sophomore: AP European History, Economics Honors and self study for AP exam

Junior: AP U.S. History, AP Chemistry, AP Spanish Lang, AP Calculus BC

Senior: AP English Language, AP Computer Science, AP Physics C

    Option 2:

Sophomore: AP European History, AP Computer Science

Junior: Economics Honors and self study for AP exam or possible AP Economics, AP Chemistry, AP Spanish Lang, AP Calculus BC

Senior: AP U.S. History, AP English Language, AP Physics C

    Option 3:

Sophomore: AP European History, AP Computer Science

Junior: AP U.S. History, AP Chemistry, AP Spanish Lang, AP Calculus BC

Senior: Economics Honors and self study for AP exam or possible AP Economics, AP English Language, AP Physics C

  • Columbia vs. Upenn vs. Northwestern?

I'm a rising junior and am interested in a college which:

    1) Location

I want a college which is in or close to a big city. I want the accommodations of a city such as shops and restaurants and I also want a city with a nightlife.

    2) Academics

I want to go to a college which offers great academics. I have a 3.94 GPA (unweighted) and academics are really important to me. I plan on majoring in economics or a business related major.

    3) Party/Social Scene

I also want to go to a college where I can find a group of people to go out with on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday night. I'm more of a party person rather than having a laid back social scene. I obviously want great academics but I also want to have a fun time in college since after that it's work. Basically I want a college which has a study hard play hard mentality that is in or near a big city.

So far I came up with UPenn, Columbia and Northwestern. Could you give me insight on which of these colleges would be best and why. Also if there are any other colleges that fit my interests, tell me more about it.

  • Should I take AP Computer Science or Economics Honors?

I'm entering sophomore year and I am choosing classes for next year. I have the choice between AP Computer Science and Economics Honors. I probably will be majoring in economics or a business related major in college, so if I take Economics Honors I probably will also take the AP exam with some self studying as well. On the other hand, I have a general interest in computers but have minimal experience in programming. Here are my two options:

Take Economics Honors next year and don't take AP Computer Science at all

    Or

Take AP Computer Science this year and only take Microeconomics (semester) as a senior

    Which is the better option?

  • Upenn vs Columbia vs Harvard vs Princeton?

Hi, I'm an incoming junior and am looking at potential colleges. These four colleges are my favorites so far. I want to know which of these colleges is the best for multiple things such as:

    Business/economics major

    Social/Nightlife Scene

In reality I don't care about the most prestigious name but I'd rather go to a college which combines a great social/nightlife scene with great academics. Thanks!

  • Self studying AP Human Geography?

I plan on self studying for AP Human Geography this year and I was wondering what material would be necessary to get a 5 on the exam. Would a review book such as Barron's, Princeton Review, REA, or 5 steps to a 5 be enough or would I also need to complement the review books with a textbook such as Human Geography: People, Place, and Culture. Thanks!

  • Does my sat subject test score hurt my chances at top colleges?

I took the Sat subject test in chemistry as a freshmen and recieved a 640. I took a semester of chemistry and was part of a chemistry competition this year. I plan on retaking them next year and am aiming for a 760+ by actually formally studying as well as taking another semester of chemistry. Considering I get a 760+ next year would my first score hurt my chances at colleges that require all sat scores like upenn and Columbia? Thanks

  • AP Statistics or AP Psychology?

So for my senior year which of these two should I take?

The other classes I'm taking this year as well include AP Physics C, Multi-variable Calculus Honors, AP English Lit, and Modern World History Honors.

Other Ap classes I took include:

AP US History, AP European History, AP Calculus BC, AP Chemistry, AP Computer Science, and AP Spanish Lang

  • Would it look bad if I don't take AP Chem?

I participate in Chem Olympics, chemistry competition, as a freshmen and sophomore. Now that I'm going to be a junior next year I have 4 AP science open to me. I was wondering if it would look bad if I don't take AP Chemistry on my college application. I enjoy chemistry but I took it already and want to take AP Physics this year and AP Environmental Science next year. Would this look bad on my college app?
