In Star Trek (e.g. TNG) how does the communication system send your comm request [*] to the correct person before you finish making it?
Does it record and replay it? I don't notice a delay.

1 AnswerOther - Television4 years agoQuote: "One wishes to throw stones at gods..."?
I'm trying to remember a quote from somewhere that goes something like this:
"One wants to throw stones at idols (or gods or statues), but there are no stones and no idols..."
I think it refers to a general frustration that one can't do anything about.
All I could find on the web was the throwing stones in glass houses quote.

I want to call them pipers, but I'm not sure. They have long legs and "run" without bobbing their heads.

They're just being stockpiled, so why not give them to the poor ? They'll be put in circulation and they won't have to pay to store them.

1 AnswerLaw & Ethics9 years agoCan you recall a smell or taste?
Without being around the object at the time, I mean. When I smell a pizza nearby, I recognize the smell as pizza, but if I'm not around it, I can't form an "image" of the smell or taste of it in my mind. Is it just me?

I don't want to have to deal with the excess dripping off when tinning, but will it permanently affect heat conduction if I use lead-free to tin?
