My dad is making spaghetti and the ground beef is wrapped it what looks like a roll. Like a roll of cookie dough or breakfast sausage. The wrapping says it helps it stay fresher longer and the sell by date is 3/22/15 and it 3/17/15. Is that the reason why they wrap it like that? I'm just curious because i know usually after you buy the ground beef in styro foam wrapped in plastic the sell by date is like 2 days after we get it. Its just my local grocery store brand (Kroger). Is this kind of ground beef better?

Earlier my dad cut up chicken and marinated it for my mom to make around dinner time. He set the container on the bottom shelf but it was above the bell peppers and i thought it could've dripped under the drawer but the bell peppers were in bags. Anyways if there was any cross contamination of any food theyre getting cooked in a pan. This will kill any bacteria right?

The freezer door was left open a little bit for like 5 minutes maybe more. Will the food in there still be good?

Ok so my dad was boiling chicken because were having shredded chicken tacos and when he was washing the chicken breasts he set the styrofoam on the counter and the styrofoam is wrapped and he set the fork and spatula he was using on the counter but je daid he wiped down the counter but I dont think he used any cleaner. To me that just spreads the germs around. But the utensils were on a different part of the counter. Am I overeacting? Im scared that he might've contaminated the utensils with salmonella. He touched the forks but not the part you eat with but he washed his hands and then I made my tacos with a fork with my right hand scooping up the chicken and then I ate my taco with my right hand. Then I remembered that he touched the forks. Will I get sick from this? I know this is a really stupid question but please just answer dont give me crap I have some problems with food. Thanks

I had homemade french toast for breakfast and mymom made them on a flat grill and they werent burnt but they were sstill a light yellow. Not completely undercooked but they tasted a kind like over easy eggs but not that much maybe every like 4 bites. Were these french toast undercooked. Im really worried for some reason because I dont want to get salmonella. Will I get salmonella? Serious answers only please and thank you. Please excuse my stupid question.

Today I had a lot of chocolate. If anyone knows the Keebler striped dark chocolate cookies I had maybe almost 2 rows. My stomach kinda hurts but im hungry at the same time and im about to have dinner. I know you can throw up from eating too much of anything but I think I've had more sugar than almost 2 rows of these cookies. (For example. Ive had eaten 1 or 2 little blocks of cookie dough and baked like 8 cookies and ate them all and they were a bit undercooked because they were chewy and I didnt get sick.) I have a big box of the garlic butter pepperoni pizza hot pockets and there are 2 left and I was gonna have one for a snack. They havent been out of the freezer for that long because I just had one of them out for like 30 seconds to see if it had any ice crystals in the bag, there's a few but their more sticking to the bag not the hot pocket. These are still good right? I know frozen food cant really go bad unless they have been in there for a really long time and if they stopped freezing I the freezer which they haven't. Thanks.

We have had this bag of popcorn chicken in my freezer for a couple months. I would say since early December/ mid december. Its now march. Is it still good? Its pre cooked banquet chicken. I was afraid to eat it because I thought I would get like salmonella from it. Can I eat this without getting sick?

Ok so I just had a slice of pizza and I didnt even wash my hands after touching my fridge door handle and my sink lever to turn the water on and then I was just thinking about how my parents touch raw meat and then touch the sink lever and how my brother had food poisoning and I was touching the fridge door handle. When I say had he just got over it today. Will I be ok? I dont think he touched the fridge door handle because he was laying down most of the day. I hope he didnt touch the handle. If he did could I get sick? Someone please help me im worried about this. I know I probably shouldn't but im just trying to get over this phobia and thingslike this happen and I start worrying again. I just had a chicken strip basket from Dairy Queen and I was eating it and this piece I had was kinda tough so I spit it out. I thought it was a bit pinkish but it turns out it was just where the breading was, I looked at it again and it was just kinda dark not pink. Was this piece I tried to chew raw? Do they have any raw foods at fast food restaurants or is the chicken pre cooked and shipped over to them? Im kinda worried that I ate raw or undercooked chicken. Will I be okay? When I got home today I made these Jimmy Dean biscuit sausage sandwiches and before I put them in the microwave I was trying not to touch them because I hadnt washed my hands yet after touching the handles on my fridge and I accidentally touched one of the biscuits and then in my head I said I wasn't gonna eat it but I totally forgot when I took it out and that was the first one I ate. Every time I eat Dairy queen chicken strips and fries I get a stomach later in the day but that's it. My mom says it could be the oil they fry the strips in. But I also have ranch with it so that also might be the problem but I still eat it because its really good. But does anyone know what causes this?

Ok im posting this question again because I forgot to add some things. Anyways My mom is getting me taco bell and I've been going through this little food poisoning paranoia and I want to stop worrying about stupid things like this but I just cant. I never used to be like this and there is nothing that happened to me before that made me scared. I just wanted to know more about food borne illness and I looked it up and it just led to a big mess. Anyways from the Taco Bell im getting 3 fiery locos tacos and a mountain dew. She says people from her work eat there a lot and she sometimes does because she isnt much of a fan of I guess "fake" Mexican food. Ive eaten from a Taco Bell that was combined with a Long John Silver's. It was on a field trip and we had 3 choices and the taco bell was one of them. My teacher even said she wouldn't recommend it because its a sea food place mixed with a mexican fast food restaurant. I survived without getting sick. So should I even be worrying about this? My mom is bringing home Taco Bell and I have been going through this little food poisoning paranoia and I want to get rid of it and my mom always tells me im not gonna get sick. I believe her then I eat the food. But it just keeps coming back and I keep worrying. She said its a good Taco Bell and she said people and herself at work eat it all the time because its right by there work. I normally get 2-3 fiery tacos with just meat and cheese. My dad was marinating chicken wings with bbq sauce and the shelf below has mine and his vitamin waters. I grabbed a vitamin water that was a bit further back so it wasn't directly under the container he was marinating them in. Anyways the drinks are sealed and they have caps on them. None should leak down should it?

I know there's only certain types of bacteria that survive certain temperatures. Is 350 F enough to kill most bad bacteria? The reason why im asking is because my dad is making homemade pizza and normally ill tell him to wash his hands but then I said it doesnt matter because its going in the oven and he agreed with me so I just didnt say anything else. Im pretty sure we put it in at 350 F if not 325. Will this kill most bacteria?

Today at a birthday party i had a bbq pulled CHICKEN sandwich. If never heard of pulled chicken but I've heard of bbq pulled pork. Anyways it was kinda cold because it was sitting ouy for about 30 minutes I would guess maybe an hour. I know you shouldn't eat meat that's been left out for 2 hours or more. I honestly do not know how long it has been sitting out. But anyways its been about 30-45 minutes and I feel fine.
