  • How to put more water in my tank?

So I have a 75 gallon tank and the water is starting to evaporate. My issue is I started this tank about two weeks ago. I got my water tested and the person said my water was ready for fish. I bought three cichlids three bala sharks and a Pleco. I just went to get my water tested again yesterday and the guy at the shop said it would take another week for my tank to balance out. He didn't show me the test strip but he said there was ammonia and nitrate so don't add anymore fish or put anything in my water other than that everything was good and functioning normal for a new tank thats still cycling. Do I just simply put water into the tank? I used my tap water for the tank, the water comes from a well so there is not any chlorine. Just confused because I can't find anything on adding water to such a new tank. Any links or books you know of on water maintenance would also be very helpful. Thanks

  • What would happen if I got female baby betta fish?

I have a 29 gallon tank and would like 3 maybe 5 female betta fish in it. If I got them while they're still fairly young and small would I have a better chance of them getting along?

What kind of tank mates do you recommend for betta fish?

  • How many female bettas ca I put in a 29 gallon tank?

My tank is well planted with tons of hiding spots. Also if I decide to have a community tank and only have one betta fish what type of tanks mates would you suggest? I've heard tetras, ghost shrimp, snails, Cory Dora's, and silver dollars.

  • What is a good way to start a trail riding club?

I'm moving to a different state and I don't know anyone. I thought maybe there would be a riding club type thing because it's such a large horse area but I can't seem to find anything. I'm not looking for profit just a group of people who enjoy riding to get out and ride when they can. I was thinking maybe a facebook group? But then again I don't know anyone yet so I don't know how I'd get people to join. What are some good ideas to start a riding group/club?

  • How/where do I measure my saddle to get a good exact fit on my next saddle?

I had my saddle professionally fitted 3 years ago (I was stupid and didn't pay attention to how it's done) for my endurance saddle. Now I'm getting into the extreme cowboy races, and barrel racing so I'm looking for a different type of saddle. Since I know my current saddle is a perfect fit how do I measure it so I can get a different saddle? Thanks in advance

  • What are some good names for our new ranch?

Something that incorporates our horses would be nice, we train BLM mustangs. My brain draws a blank when it comes to naming unfortunately.... Not "Mustang Ranch" because that's a famous strip club in the state I'm from lol

  • What are some fun things to teach while giving lessons?

So I have been assigned to give a beginner some riding lessons. When I first showed up she was crying just to clean her horses hooves and refused to go into a trot. Now I've got her confidence up to where she'll trot and can groom and saddle her horse without any assistance. I've also taught her about flexing her horse and to keep her hands in "the box"

When she's comfortable she has a great seat however when she gets a little nervous she tends to hang onto her horse with her ankles.. What's a good way to correct that?

Also just some fun things to do while giving a lesson, we were practicing figure eights the other day and that was kinda fun.

  • Can I make my own fish tank decorations?

I love the look of real rocks but my local pet shops only have fake rocks or rocks I don't really like that cost around $20. I want to make my own little caves from rocks (I have the tools to do so) but I don't want to poison my fish either. What kind of rocks can I use? What rocks do I avoid?

  • What kind of fish should I get? (First fish tank)?

    I bought a 29 gallon fish tank, the dimensions are 30"L x 13"W x 19"H

I plan on having real plants and plenty other hiding places, rocks, driftwood, etc..

How many fish do you think I can have? I also did a little research and picked the fish I would like to have such as

    Glowlight Tetra

    Assorted Male Fancy Guppie

    Boesemani Rainbow

    Dalmation/red/orange Sailfin Molly

    Borneo Sucker

    Black Ruby Barb

    Clown Loach

I know with my limited amount of space I'll have to eliminate some fish but what do you think of them for a beginners fish tank?

Which ones would you combine and how many of each? Thanks for your help!

  • How do I advertise my facebook page?

So I made a page to sell pine needle baskets and other things I make. Someone suggested at a craft fair that I make a facebook page so I did, not thinking of how I should advertise (bad idea I know) Now that fall is coming craft fairs in my area are going away so I can't use that as advertisement anymore.

  • Whats the best set up for hen boxes?

I have 11 chickens but my they are still to young to lay eggs, I started building boxes anyway. Today my neighbor said hens are happier without the actual individual boxes and just a giant box filled with straw. Is that true?

Also would they be happier or a more healthy flock if they had a rooster?

  • Help with aggressive hen?

I have 11 chickens all hens no roosters. There seems to be a problem between two of the hens on gets beaten up by the other. I got up one morning and one chicken had its face pecked fairly bad and very close to her eye. I put a cage inside the chicken coop and put the injured chicken in there until she healed and got her feathers back. The one mean hen is still going after her. How can I avoid this? They have a 20' x 30' pen with more than enough food and water. The hens are about five months old. Should I re home the aggressive hen?

  • legal horse help? Registration rules?

So when I was 10 years old my aunt gave me her horse. She was supposed to teach me how to ride and said the horse was safe. Well she gave me the horse and bailed to a different state, the horse was NOT safe she was underfed and never had any attention so she was basically a wild horse with a 10 year old who never even owned a horse. A few years went by my mom and I paid for food, shelter, vet bills, and training, the horse made a full recovery and became a very sweet loyal horse. When I turned 18 my aunt gave me the horses registration papers but did not put my name on them, her name is still on the papers. I am now 20 years old and my aunt called saying she wants the horse back. If her name is on the papers can she take my horse back? I've had her for 10 years this horse is no longer a riding horse I retired her last spring and there is no way she could be bred so she is of no use to my aunt. My aunt also lives in a apartment and doesn't have a steady pay check. Please serious answers only thank you.

  • What is the worst thing you can say to a equestrian?

We had some people over for dinner last night and I was told by their son who hangs out with friends and plays video games all day and night that "It's easy" after I got back from training for 5 hours (Not including the normal chores I have, and work.) He's never even been on a horse, but anyway it got me thinking on what some of the worst things you can say to a equestrian?

  • What's a good hair style for having hair down?

I wanted to cut my hair shorter this year like I did last year. The problem is I couldn't really put it up and having it down with hair always touching my face drives me nuts! What would be a good style for shorter hair that would make less hair touch my face?

  • Can you put baby geese and baby chicks together?

We have 11 chicks and my mom decided to get two baby geese. Do we have a better chance of them getting along while they're little or should I make another coop for the geese? Right now I have a 24x24ft pen and a chicken house but once they're bigger they'll be let out during the day.
