I haven't overclocked my 3570k (stock cooler) at all, and usually the max temp under Prime95 is 78-84 C. But I just did one now and, before I stopped the test, it hit 102 C. The ambient temps haven't changed, so what could have happened. Also, the 84 C test was just yesterday.

I have a seagate drive taken from a dell computer that has a small OEM partition and a large unallocated section. Unfortunately, I somehow managed to make the disk dynamic instead of basic, so I am trying to change it back. In order to change it back to basic, I know that I first have to delete the OEM partition, but Windows will not let me do this in Disk Management.

Diskpart gives the error "Virtual Disk Service error: The operation is not supported by the object. The specified command or parameters are not supported on this system."

I use Windows 7. Does anyone know how I could solve this problem?

I understand that the 6870 is the best card out of those, but is it worth it for another $20?

I'm looking to get a 3570k, and I saw that Microcenter used to have it for 189.99, but it appears to be over. Anyone know a good deal for it? (from someplace like TD, Newegg, Amazon, or microcenter)

Are there any major problems with the gigabyte GA-A75M-S2V? It's cheap, which is why I want it, but I'm wondering if there's something major missing. I don't need SLI but I do want to overclock my 2500k.

I want to overclock an i5 2500k, don't need SLI, and will be using 6-8 gigs of ddr3 memory. What motherboard would you recommend? If it is from a fairly good brand, and is under 120$, it'll work. I plan on playing mostly World at War and maybe some newer games with it.

If you need other info, please tell me. I haven't chosen a graphics card yet, but I'm leaning toward the AMD Radeon HD 6870. Do I need to choose a GPU in order to choose a motherboard?

I'm writing a genetic algorithm in python about the optimal series of moves for a virtual organism that will get it the most randomly-placed food in a 2D-grid. It does not have intelligence; it just moves in a pattern ie circle or square. My code for creating the 2D array for the environment that the organisms reside in is this:

It just says "list assignment index out of range." How can i fix this? By the way, does anyone know of a better way to create the 2D environment for the organisms?

I'm doing a school project where I use a genetic algorithm to breed a population of artificial organisms. They're objective is to pick up energy that appears randomly in the 2D environment, and they do not have actual intelligence really, just have to move in a square pattern or a circle pattern. What to you think would be a good option? I don't have very much experience in any one particular language, but I have experimented in many. What would be a good, fairly high-level language? C? Python? Others?
