  • Taxability and reporting sales of Corp assets?

    Have a small S Corp.

Will be closing the company and selling off the assets (customer list, furniture, goodwill, phone numbers, website, company name, etc). Basically whoever buys would get a turnkey business but not selling the Corporation shares.

How do I properly report the sales of these assets? How would the sales of these assets be taxable? Do I subtract the original capitalization (shares of the company) which were valued at $20,600 from the price to report taxable portion?

Appreciate all information along with any links, forms or publications to refer to.

  • Why is it that international question appear on the US answers forum?

There is nothing worse that clicking on a question, reading the whole question, then realizing it is from another country.

Why do these questions from the UK or India appear on the US version of answers?

  • "We're taking a breather..." ?

It seems like everytime I answer a question with some thought or good information, I get the We're taking a breather message.

This has been happening a lot for a while now. Is yahoo really that screwed up that they can not fix this stuff?

I hear Yahoo is laying off quite a few people. As both a answers user and a customer that has multiple websites hosted by Yahoo, it seems like the service is getting worse.

Slow or non responsive access to both emails and answers. I know this probably won't do any good, but have others had the same experience?

  • What happens to latex paint if exposed to freezing temperatures?

We will be moving to an area that gets snow if the winter and tempuratures well below freezing. It never freezes where I now live.

We normally leave touch up paint in the garage, but at the new home it freezes in the winter. Will this affect the paint? If so, how should I store it?
