  • lighter periods after a d&c and m/c?

I am a little worried. After my d&cs at the end of april, my periods have returned consistently, but they have also been lighter than they used to be. I have had 3 periods since the m/c. Is the light period normal after a d&c? Is it just a matter of time before they get to where they were before? They used to last 6-7 days. Now, barely 4. I've also had a lot of cramping. I am worried about scarring in my uterus, but hope i am just overreacting. I had to have a 2nd surgery the same day because i started hemorrhaging.

  • periods after d&c lighter than before?

i had a miscarriage at the end of april and ultimately a d&c. i actually had a 2nd d&c the same day because i started hemorrhaging. Since the surgery, i've had a period every 25-26 days but i am concerned because they are different and lighter than what they normally were like. Before, my period lasted about 7 days and the first 2 days were pretty heavy, etc. but they aren't anymore. this last time i had a lot of cramping, but still, less flow. I am concerned about scarring. Is it just a matter of time before the flow returns to normal, or what??

    thanks!

  • general anesthesia question-clear liquids?

I have a medical procedure at 1pm tomorrow and will be under general anesthesia. I can't eat anything after midnight tonight.

I can't remember if i can have clear liquids after 7am or if after 7am i can't have anything.

What do you think? I think it's too late to call. I'm thinking nothing after 7am but would like to know. 6 hours is awhile

  • Has anyone taken misoprostol/cytotec for a miscarriage and it didn't work?

Well, at my ultrasound last monday, the doctor confirmed that while i was about 10.5 weeks, the baby had died around 8, there was no heartbeat.

My husband and I are really sad.

Rather than surgery, my doctor and i decided to try misoprostol/cytotec to help the miscarriage along, as i was already shedding tissue and bleeding.

I first took it last monday afternoon, and again 12 hours later, 800 mcg vaginally.

After my first dose, i had some cramping and blood loss, and about 12 hours passed a big clot, which at the time i thought was the gestational sac.

    i took another dose, also.

it turns out the miscarriage wasn't over. :( at my ultrasound friday, we still saw the fetus.

we decided to try the misoprostol again.

I took a dose again, but didn't experience much bleeding or cramping. Ditto 12 hours later.

has this happened to anyone else?

i really just want this to be over. how long will it take?
