  • Which branch of U.S military would impose in the event of martial law?

I'm assuming that it would be military police, but I'm pretty sure that there isn't enough of them necessary for the enactment of a nation-wide martial law, but I'm not entirely sure how martial law would be carried out if it were to occur in the states; possibly only certain designaed areas would be controlled by the military. Also, each branch of military has their own force of military police, and I don't think that there is a singular military police force meant for all of the military branches (ex. the Army has their police force, and the Marines have theirs).I don't think that they could merge together from different branches, but as stated I'm very unsure of how things work under martial law. The National Guard seems like the next logical option for controlling, but I'm not sure if there's enough of them, either.

I can't seem to find a definite answer anywhere. Is this information intentionally kept secret? Thanks

  • Just got asked out by a guy but I think I'm into girls?

this guy I know has been talking to me in school and over the internet. he's crazy nice and once school ended he's been messaging me like crazy! a while ago he told me that he liked me. but the thing is i've always had an inclination for girls, and i have this wicked strong crush on this amazing girl that i know!

now don't tell me that I should just "come out" or tell her i like her, or tell him im not into him because i have absolutely no idea what their opinions on homosexuality might be, same goes for my parents and essentially everyone in my school and community. to add insult to injurt i'm about 94% sure that she's straight as a board. deep sigh. i don't even know if this is just a phase or a short little thing or what, but i think about her like crazy all of the time.

but anyways im completely infatuated with this girl i know and when the guy told me that he liked me, i messed up and told him that i liked him back as to not make him feel bad or anything even though i have very litle attraction to him. now he's just asked me out! what should i do? should i just go with it or should i continue to try to figure things out with my sexuality? geez im in a rut here

  • Will green tea for breakfast start your metabolism?

I'm really not much of a breakfast eater, at all; I feel terrible eating first thing in the morning, it never really sits right, and I'd rather run on an empty stomach when I go for my morning jog. However, I've heard that not eating breakfast makes your metabolism sluggish and cause you to store whatever you eat later in the day as fat and flab because it thinks it's in "starvation mode", subsequently causing you to gain weight. Green tea I've heard revs up and boosts your metabolism, though. So, if I drink green tea in the morning, will that be enough to get my metabolism started for the day and not put my body into starvation mode or whatever that was called? Thanks

  • Most physically adtive sub-discipline in Civil Engineering?

Hey, I'm going to be looking into getting a degree in civil engineering. However, I'm deathly scared of being stuck with a desk job and not getting enough physical activity in my day or being sedentary too often. I'd most likely prefer a job where I'm on my feet for at least over half of my work hours. I was wondering if there was any specific sub-discipline in civil engineering that required the most activity, like possibly construction engineering or environmental engineering. It doesn't necessarily have to be doing heavy lifting or working construction; just where I'd be found more often at the site of operation or surverying future sites as opposed to being hunched over a desk or standing around in an office for a majority of my hours.

I am most likely going to be going into the military with my civil engineering degree to score an engineering job there, for the experience and benefits and a decent steady salary to get me on my feet after the student loans. That will require tons of physical activity to even get in, but afterwards I'm looking for a nice place to go where I will continue to be active. Also, is there any types of job that require a civil engineering degree (a specific job, like for example a construction maintinence operator) where you are prominently more active than most jobs, rather than just a broad sub-discipline of jobs? Thanks

  • Whenever I run I get sad and angry?

Whenever I go out for a run, I always end up becoming agitated, irritable, and almost wanting to cry. Running should clear my head and allow me to assess situations better, but all it does for me is allow me time to scrutinize myself over all of the bad things that I do and degrade myself for not running faster, or for eating too much, or that I might not make my goal. Some points I want to just throw my spedometor on the ground and start crying, and other times I want to flip off anyone who drives by on the road. Is this supposed to happen? And is there any way I can stop this from happening? Thanks

  • Constantly disappointing my parents with my weight?

A while ago I started to have problems with my weight. I wasn't happy with how I looked (even though I wasn't anywhere near becoming overweight) so I started eating a lot less and lost a ton of weight, and my parents weren't happy with that at all. They got very concerned with me and at some points even threatened to take me to a hospital to feed me through a tube like those with anorexia. After spring break I got a lot better with what I ate, and let myself go. I had gained quite a bit of what I had lost back, and they were very happy with me.

Unfortunately yesterday I caught a terrible flu bug and was throwing up with tons of stuff coming out of both ends, and lost my appetite. With quite literally nothing inside of me aside from like three crackers and some water + ginger ale, I've dropped back down to 118 lbs, and they're very unhappy with me again. What should I do?

  • Is drinking so much water that great for you?

Water is fantastic in a lot of ways, I know; it's flushes out your system, it's a healthy alternative to sugary drinks, it keeps you hydrated, it's just great. But is drinking that dang much of it that good? People say to drink tons of water, which I have been doing for a while, but really all I feel is just going to the bathroom incessantly. It gets annoying

  • Does this count as splurging?

I'm very calorie conscience; I'm trying to maintain a nice body for an upcoming beach vacation over spring break. Over the past few months I've been moderating my diet very closely, with low calories and low sugar (and I've also cut down on soda and ready-made meals), and I exercise about three days a week. Most of the time I just don't eat that much; some days I skip dinner entirely.

I'm 5'5 and weigh about 125lb (I'm also pretty young, still in junior high). Tonight, I had two pieces of everything pizza with some steak fries from a local restaurant. I'm wondering if that what I ate was okay, and won't make me overweight or put on belly fat? I'm going to run and do boxing tonight and also barely eat anything tomorrow, hoping that will make up for some of it. Or was this just an innocent splurge? Honestly I haven't allowed myself this much bread and cheese for a very long time. Here's the run down of what I've eaten so far today:

    Breakfast:

Whole wheat toast with a light coating of peanut butter

    Lunch:

Turkey-salami sandwich with lettuce, a piece of thin pepperjack cheese, and a light coating of mayonaise

A fuji apple and a water bottle

After-school Snack: EXACT serving size of a cup (a little under that actuallu) of Fiber One honey clusters cereal with 16 raw almonds w/ a banana

    Dinner:

2 pieces of everything pizza with about 12 steak fries

Was that too much? I won't eat anything more today, and I probably won't eat any breakfast tomorrow and only a light salad for lunch. Anyone help?

If you had a room with absolutely nothing in it, and the walls, ceiling and floor were made of mirror, what would it look like in the mirrors?
