Best state for new S-Corp?
I am forming a new S-corp but do not know which state would be best. I currently live in North Carolina but will most likely not do business here. I have a pending contract with a company in Mass. and will most likely do the bulk of my business there.
As the business grows I plan on moving out of NC, and will most likely do very little if any business here.
The contract value is right around $300,000 with provisions on increasing that to $660,000 based on performance. After 2 years I will also most likely have business in CO, TX, and KS, as these states are prime candidates for my type of work.
I am trying to reduce tax liabilities and have some flexibility in generating revenue in other states.
Thanks!
1 AnswerCorporations8 years agoI was mugged and beaten a couple of years ago, How can I get a copy of the surveillance video?
A few years ago I was mugged and beaten up pretty bad. I don't remember any of it as I got a fairly significant concussion that erased that a couple of days worth of memories.
It has taken a long time for me to emotionally recover, and I feel like I need to see the surveillance video that caught it all on video as a way of "facing my demons." I
I was wondering if anybody could tell me how to obtain a copy of the video from the police?
By the way the case is closed, the guy was caught and is in jail. All thanks to that video.
Thanks in advance

We are trying to decide between these two laptops:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8...
and
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8...
We are happy PC users, but my wife is thinking about making the switch. Her big reason is that the screens on the Apples are so much better lookng, and even though the specs and price point of the Lenevo are much better, she is drawn to the beautiful Apple display.
People with experience with both types of machine, we would appreciate your opinion.
She is going back to school to work on graphic design work, and will mostly be using it for that type of work. We want something that will last, be easy to use wherever she may need it, and be able to provide her with the power to do just about anything.
Thanks!
7 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks9 years agoHelp with calculating when a number runs to zero....?
I am calculating how many years a solar array purchase will pay it self off. If the purchase price is P, there is a state tax credit, call it S, of 35% but has to be broken into 5 equal payments over 5 years, a federal tax credit, call it F, a power company rebate, call it R, and the monthly power production, call it M, how can I write an equation that will show me at what point I hit 0.
The thing that is killing me is the state tax credit that gets broken into 5 payments. Otherwise this would be easy
Any help is appreciated!
1 AnswerMathematics9 years agoWill I still get my solar tax credits if I don't pay any taxes?
The Federal Government offers a 30% tax credit and the state of North Carolina offers a 35% tax credit. The system cost is about $30,000, but as a retiree I pay almost nothing in taxes, so will I get a check for the tax credits or do I just lose those credits?
6 AnswersUnited States9 years agoIn NC if you put in solar panels the power company sends you a 1099. Is the electricity sold, taxable income?
If the solar panels generate $1200/yr, what would the tax rate be for that? Or is that just part of your income for the year and your tax rate is dependent on your total income, ie salary, wages, etc?

3 AnswersUnited States1 decade agoI am buying a new home and was curious if the 2010 tax credits are available for me?
The home was built in the 90's and I close later this week. I am considering putting in some new windows and insulation, and want to know if I get the work done before the end of the year if I would still get them? I heard the credits don't count for new homes and wasn't sure if that meant new construction or newly purchased.
