I've had one child, pregnant for my second, and also suffered the pain of a miscarriage. Studied animal care in college though wanting desperately to become a midwife. <3

  • When is a good time to start setting things up for the arrival of a baby?

I'm 30 weeks pregnant today, and I am anxious to start getting ready for the birth of my baby. I've had mixed opinions from family and friends saying not to get ready to early because you will be falling over it. This pregnancy is completely different from my first as I am living with my partner in a two bedroom flat, rather than with my parents.

I'm lucky in the sense that I kept everything such as the moses basket, cot, pram, baby bath, top and tail bowl, etc. from my first child has been put into storage in my nan's attic. So all that needs to be done is to be transported, set up and freshened up/cleaned.

I need to purchase new mattresses for the cot and moses basket which has been advised by most healthcare professionals and a new sterliser and bottles. Otherwise dummy's, clothes and blankets I've bought around on my travels. Which I will no doubt end up buying more. Haha.

I would appreicate any previous experience of this and also comments in general at least then I will be able to put my mind at ease.

    Thanks!
