  • What's the risk with buying on Ebay?

Is there anything that can be done?

My friend bought a ring on eBay that the seller says was 18ct gold with sapphire and diamond. In the title it said that but in the listing the seller admitted that whilst she knew 100% it was 18ct gold she didn't know that the stones were genuine and hasn't had it valued.

My friend paid £150. Turns out the stones are cz and a simulated sapphire called simulane (sp?). It is however 18ct gold. Valued at about £40 scrap value by a jeweller.

Is there anything she can do?

    Additional Details

But the problem that is being faced is that the seller said in the listing that she did not know if the stones were genuine but that she knew it was 18ct gold. It IS 18ct gold so that was right. does that change anything?

The seller is sticking by the fact she didn't know and that she made that clear in the listing. She even wrote that there were no returns on this basis as she had explained she didn't know. She has said that if the ring had turned out to be genuine at £150 then there was massive profit to be made and that my friend wouldn't be volunteering a share of that.

  • Can you help me identify this book?

I read this book as a teenager and can remember the storyline but not at name or author. Would really like to track it down.

The protagonist is a young girl who has lived and grown up in India but her parents send her to post war guernsey for her education. Something she is no happy about. When she gets there she lives with her extended family who are ruined by the disappearance of her uncle during the occupation. She eventually finds him having befriended a tramp living in a gun shelter on the coast and it turns out to be him but he is dying and has lost his memory.

    Can anyone help?

  • How can I stop stress eating?

Right, I have always been a little overweight, to varying degrees. I have tried a variety of diets from weight watchers to Atkins via Dukan.

Recently I have identified a major cause and it makes me look so weak. My little girl is 2.5 an is a very dominant and active child. I love her more than anything but I am not coping very well with her mood swings, particularly the night time ones. My solution is to eat. Something, anything. The little "ahh" lasts about three seconds and then I am still left dealing with the latest tantrum. My husband doesn't see it and just palms her off onto me if she kicks off.

Does this mean I am a stress eater? I totally accept that I had a weight issue before she was born but I have never cared this little about what I put in my mouth. I start with good intentions and then something happens and it all goes out the window. There is always a reason, hard day, hard class, hard week.....

Because I teach day and evening and have her I can't just go out for a run to work out the stress either.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks x

  • Remote locking and alarm problem Rover 25?

    Hi can anyone help

My husband has just tried to unlock our 01 Rover 25 and the fob failed. When he tried to open it manually via the drivers door the alarm went off. We have replaced the battery in the fob for a brand new one but still nothing doing. We tried resynching it using the unlock door push buttons method but the alarm just goes off.

    Any ideas very welcome!
