Earlier this year my english teacher refused to put me in the honors british literature class next year. Since i have received a high "a" all year and the reason she gave me wasn't good enough in my opinion, i appealed it and ended up getting in.

I just found out a week ago and i have noticed some things changing in the way my teacher acts around me. i am very quiet in her class and its no secret that she favors the loud outgoing kids. She has also been unnecessarily rude to me. The other morning i was walking to first period and saw her in the hallway. I waved to her and said "good morning!" she gave me a death stare as i was walking by. I'm sure she saw and heard me. She also picked me to go first to lead a class discussion even though she knows i don't like to talk. she also loves to talk with the other students in my class but not me. it actually bothers me a lot.

i guess what I'm wondering is does she actually hate me or am i being way too paranoid? my parents and a few other teachers think she knows about how i went behind her back and got into honors. I also might have gotten her into some trouble with her boss while i was doing this….oops;)

anyone experience something similar? any teachers out there want to share what they would do if a student went behind their back like i did?

i applied to take the honors english course offered at my school next year. Both my counselor and i were very confident that i would get in because i have maintained an "A" throughout the entire year. I went to talk to my current teacher about it. My teacher told me that i was "in way over my head" because i don't participate enough in class

Because this teacher won't let me into the honors class, i went back to my counselor and got a petition for re-evaluation.i had to go to the man who is the head of the english department and talk with him. He asked me what my teacher's name was. When i told him he gave me this "ugh" kind of look and told me that he knows how many people have had problems with her. He told me that as long as my essay averages were good then that will really help my chances. The problem is that the first quarter my teacher only put in 2 things under the "essays" category of the grade book. I told him this and i explained why the grade was so low.there were only 2 assignments under "essays," a prewriting assignment and a letter. He looked really surprised and told me that those weren't considered essays and that each quarter the teachers are required to assign three essays. He asked me to show him more quarters and it was the same thing. He told me that he wouldn't use my name, but he was going to go to administration and tell them that she isn't doing her job and meeting the requirements. Theres a chance shell get fired now. i feel like crap

So i filled out an application to take honors english next year (junior year) and i went to my teacher today to basically ask her about what is required and let her know how badly i want to take that class. she told me that i was in way over my head. (i have a 94% average in the class and got a very high act score in english this year). she said that i don't participate enough (very true) but i don't see that as a legit reason to not let me take the class. it has nothing to do with intellectual capability or grades or anything!! i am very willing to put in the work and this teacher always talks about how good i am at english. i talked to my school counselor and he is going to try to put in a good word with her for me. i just don't get it. any advice? thanks so much in advance you are all amazing:)
