2 AnswersAbuse and Spam7 years agoIs a package's freight cost subjected to customs taxes in the Philippines if it's free shipment?
I'm having problem with DHL Philippines because the cost of Duties and Taxes are so high. Customs added the freight cost for my parcel where it shouldn't be because it's free shipment. I bought items online that are shipped for free and when I redeemed them in Philippine customs at Pasay NAIA, the customs always not include the freight/shipping cost.

I'm planning to work in the middle east but I also plan to bring my iaito (blunt katana), blunt machetes, bokken set and eskrima sticks with me? So how will I take them with me to the middle east? How is it gonna work? What is the process? Should I declare them first to the airport, telling the staffs and officers that I'm bringing weapons that looks dangerous before the day of my flight? And how about the customs? Should I pay a lump sum of money to the customs officials when I bring them?
I remember, a certain student of a kenjutsu school here in the Philippines brought his iaito and bokken for a live demonstration-presentation in Japan. I just don't know if he paid them in the customs first OR he just declared them first that he owns them when he went to the airport and didn't pay anything.
I like to bring my weapons so I could still practice martial arts there, even just on my own and also for the self-maintenance/cleaning of those weapons.
7 AnswersPhilippines7 years agoWhat is the best bokken style for you?
I don't want a generalized answer like: "It really depends on your preference on what style of bokken you want to use."
I mean in your own opinion, what koryu style of bokken will you use?
*I got an experience where I brought my Niten Ichi Ryu daito bokken during practice and my senpai ridiculed it and said that it is like a plywood bokken because of its thinness. He told me that I should just get a thicker bokken for durability purpose during contact sparring practice.
What can you say all about this?
1 AnswerMartial Arts7 years agoCan you travel in other countries while working in Middle East like Saudi Arabia or Qatar?
Like for a tourist visit in other countries during your day offs but still working in the middle east. I heard that there's a difficulty of getting exit permits for foreigners when working in the Middle East.
2 AnswersSaudi Arabia7 years agoShould you always put your iaito or katana in a cloth bag when not in use?
You know, to avoid dusts from getting in the blade even if it's sheathed in the saya and because it's not for decoration but something you use for practice.
