6 AnswersJokes & Riddles1 decade agoMy boss threatened to fire me over COUNTRY music playing in the office?
First off, we have an XM Radio that plays through-out the office. One day someone changed it to Country Music. I was unaware that my boss hated Country Music as much as he does. Because I'm the IT guy here, I am expected to make sure the music is appropriate for the office. I can understand if we were playing something like RAP music that had a whole bunch of profanities, but this is clean country music we are talking about.
Anyway, to make a long story short, he called me from outside of the office and reamed me up one side and down the other. Basically calling me every name under the sun. He also told me that if he EVER heard country music on the radio again, he would fire me on the spot. I have worked for his company for 2 1/2 years. I have been nothing but faithful to every demand he has requested, but this has gone too far... My question is, is he legally able to fire me for the music playing on the office radio? If he does fire me, what actions can I possibly take against him?
9 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoDo I have the right to sue my landlord?
So here's the deal, my wife and I moved into this basement on July 4th. Since then we have had multiple, multiple issues with problems. The first problem we had was that our toilet didn't work, and there was no way to turn the cold on the shower because the handle was broken. Our landlord told us it was okay for my wife's father (he's a plumber) to come and fix these issues. He did that and sent the landlord a bill. We got yelled at by the landlord stating that he only gave us permission to get an estimate. This was not the case. He said plain and clear, "Let him do what he needs to fix the issue"
Next we have ants!! They are everywhere! We have asked him for over a month to fix this issue and he simply won't touch it. There is mold in the basement. I missed work for a week because I got bronchitis and a respiratory flu, presumably from the mold. Our dishwasher leaks and he won't fix it. When our washer drains it backs up into the bathroom sink. We have been after him constantly to fix these issues, and he simply won't. He even yelled at me when I told him I wanted this stuff fixed by the end of the week. What can I do...? Can I sue him and get out of this place?? Oh yes, I almost forgot, we pay $825 a month to rent this place. Not worth it?
