  • Web Security ( SiteLock)....Is it a scam?

I have a primary question and two other (less important) questions. I would greatly appreciate any answer you can give

    1) I've had godaddy since 2001. I started to find them predatory, so i switched to domain.com. They aggressively offered security (Site Lock) which I declined and advised a client to decline, since I've never needed it before.

With domain.com all of a sudden I get a bunch of hacker messages in my email. And then a year later both my site and my client site ( two TOTALLY different accounts) Get hacked at the same exact time. My web developer gets both sites back up again and they go back down at the same time again. Let me remind you two different accounts, different credit cards, different point persons for each account. Other than the fact that my company designed both. There is no connection.

Does anybody have experience with SiteLock or similar programs? Is it a scam or nowadays do people NEED to have this $30 a month security now?

    2) Second Question: I want to leave domain.com, but I don't want to go back to GoDaddy and I am afraid to try another domain company after that nightmare. Do you have any recommendation

    3) Third Question: Is a a forum that web developers can suggest that an inexperienced web developer can go if they have questions?

Thanks for any help you can give.

  • Can you write off the amount that you have paid to contractors without a w-9?

As a new business owner I asked my contractors to give me invoices rather than w-9s last year. Can I sufficiently write off the amount with invoices or do I need to double back and get them all to give me w-9s?

  • Can i file write offs on one year instead of another in order to make the outcome of the tax return more beneficial for myself?

    TAX QUESTION:

    (Thanks in Advance for Answering!)

For example I extended my taxes till this month. I want to write off the total amount I paid my contractors for one job from for this year instead of last year because, I feel that the income from this year needs more relief to be of benefit to me. Meaning I want to write off against the year that I earned more rather than the year that I actually paid out. Can I do this?

  • To motion graphics designers: What is best computer setup?

I'm a traditional graphic designer looking to move over into Motions graphics. I've used Apple computers my entire career. And will likely buy a Macbook pro laptop.

( I have an IMAC right now that After Effects keeps crashing).

But what set up do you use or what would you recommend? Any info about Ram, Graphics Card, and Mhz would be very helpful. I'm going to be running Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, Final Cut Pro and After Effects.

    thanks in advance :)

  • Splitting Assets in a Divorce?

When someone files for divorce, what do they have to go through to get the other person's name off of the mortgage ( assuming its amicable ). There doesn't have to be a re-modification through the lender does there?

  • About filing Chapter 13?

I have 2 questions about the same subject.

    1) What happens if everything you're trying to file is something that will be discharged? Im filing in order to clear my second mortgage and my credit card debt. If that is successful will my bankruptcy be considered discharged right after I finish paying my lawyer fee?

    2) a- What is the debt to income ratio that you have to have BEFORE you file in order to be accepted for a chapter 13 bankruptcy? b- And what does it have to be afterwards to get everything discharged?
