My buddy bought a savage axis before deer season and would like to put a custom stock on it. Where can we get one made?

I want to add another gun to my cabinet i already have a .17 HMR, .243 win, .270 win and 12 ga. Do i go bigger like a 7mm rem mag or 300 win mag or smaller to a .223 or .22-250? I'm buying one cause a local store has ALL Weatherbys marked down by about 40% so I'm going to go pick one up. Just not sure what caliber.

I have an axis in .270 win and shooting remington 130 gr core-lokts and getting 1.5-2in groups. Just wondering if anybody has same gun and what ammo they use. eventully i will handload but not a while yet (maybe 2 years).

I am still deciding on a caliber for my use. I dont want overkill but i dont want under kill either. I will be hunting mostly whitetail deer and mule deer. The ODD (like every 3-4 years) moose. THIS ISNT A MOOSE GUN! it is wide open area and shots will be under 300 yards max. I do not want a .30-06because that is everyones answer. Choose between the 3 and if you have another suggestion (besides the .30-06) then please say so. Also i already have a .243 win.

Last night I went out hunting and sure enough my big buck shows up (155 in typical) and he saw me. He waked around behind me and at 25 yards he was perfectly broad side at me so I shot and went high. He ran out of there so fast! Will he come back? I'm going to sit in a different place next time, now that I know where he comes out. I shot at him with a bow by the way. He never hesitated to come to the grain but soon as he saw me he spooked.

Like .257 wby mag or .300 wby mag? i haven't seen a die for them and was just curious if you could handload or do you have to buy the Weatherby brand shells?

My local gun shop has em for $479. Are they good guns? accurate? Better then a weatherby vanguard?

Just curious about the real load he made. Anybody know what it is?

Which would you take and in what caliber?

OK so I've narrowed it down to .270 win or .300 win mag. I DO NOT WANT A .30-06!!! I will be hunting whitetail, mule deer. Eventually moose but not at the moment. It will be in either a Winchester model 70 (Featherweight or Sporter) or a Weatherby. Shots will be from 100-300 yards. My neighbor can handload me .300 win mag shells but that's it. I'm a bit concerned with recoil form .300 so hoping if i get one he can handload "nice" loads.

If i got the BB then i would use BBM alot but is that important? You can do alot on the iPhone 4 as well. I like the fact the iphone has a "ipod" build in to it. My biggest fear is that i will drop the iphone and crack the screen or scratch it all to heck.

I have a tasco 2.5-10x42mm varminter scope and i want to put butler screek scope caps on it. Howver it has "distance scale" on it.

i'm not sure if i can or not with the adjustable "distance scale" it is on my savage 93r17 fv with a harris 9-13in bipod. Can i put them on and still adjust the end piece?

What would you guys pick for whitetail deer,mule deer and coyotes? I will be hunting in wide open areas mostly. Shots will be 100-300 yards max. mostly 100-200 tho.

I'm seriously considering getting one. They are $489 on Wetherby's website (it is the vanguard series 2 synthetic) in .300 win mag. What is the recoil like on the vanguards? They are 7.5 lbs no scope and have a decent recoil pad on them so it can;t be to bad but would like to hear from owners. Thx

Just curios who all still uses it and what have you taken with it? What is the best "brand/model" of .270 you have shot/owned? I am thinkin about buyin my son one and he would like it to last the rest of his life and some more. He is 15 in june.

Like a chain powered bike. You would have to turn it on it's side i know but like as soon as you start a lawnmower the blade goes. How would you be able to modify so you start when you start it, it idles? then when you give throttle it goes??? Thx for any help!

I'm buyin a new rifle. I'm torn between the .270 win and .300 win mag. I will be hunting moose, elk mule deer and whitetail deer. The .300 hits hard but has alot of recoil where as the .270 hits 200 ft/lbs lighter and has lighter recoil. Which is more sufficient for my use? I will either be buying a Wetherby Vanguard or a Savage 111 Package series or a hunter series. Which is a nicer all around rifle?

Just curious. And which is better .270 WSM or .300WSm in comparison to recoil, drop, energy ft/lbs? Which is cheaper?

My son has grown out of this bow and is selling it. It comes with sight, whisker biscuit and release. Bow is in EXCELLENT shape. Never been dropped, stepped on etc.

My son is 15 and wanting to buy himself a new rifle. He wants a 300, is this too big of a gun for a 15 year old? He is 5'10 200 pounds. He shoots a 12 ga 2 /24 in all the time.
