Is this guy gay/bi and does he like me?
So basically im one of the only out LGBT people in my school and today this guy who's slightly younger than me and who i've never really spoken too before (we do have a class together), said hi to me while I was walking home from school and started a conversation with me (No one else was around at the time). Also while he was talking with me he seemed a little bit nervous, and it seemed like he wanted to tell me something but couldn't figure out what to say. Now the thing is whenever this has happened before the guy later on has come out to me and either wanted to hook up with me or to get into a relationship, but I just want to know what you guys think and whether you think im just over-reacting and he was just being nice or if im right.
1 AnswerLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender8 years agoIs staring/eyecontact a good way to tell if someone is gay/bi?
I'm just curious about what you guys think, because in the past this has worked quiete well for me in finding guys who were gay or bi, without relying on stereotypes. Also theres a couple of guys at school I don't know well who I catch staring at me alot and when I stare back at them they don't look away, so i'm wondering how i should approach either finding out for sure or letting them know i like them.
4 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender9 years agoIs this person most likely trans/cross-dresser?
Theres this straight guy at my school who when he was younger in like grade 6 dressed up as a princess/girl for halloween several times, and gets really defensive about it when people bring it up now (theres a long background story to why it was brought up recently). I know it may just be a coincidence, but every trans person or cross-dresser I've talked too (including myself) did similar things when they were growing up, which is why I'm pretty sure its more than that. but anyway what do you think?
4 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender9 years agowhen should I text this guy I met?
So last night I was at a local festival and they had a "talk to strangers" exibit there and I started talking to this guy and got his number. Now normally I would wait till the next day but what happened was he texted me back like an hour later and said his lesbian friend wanted to tlak with one of my female friends and so on, so we went and met up with him and his group. My friends in a relationship and was thinking of leaving right after anyway so she left and the guy asked me to hangout with him and his friends for the next little bit, which went ok. Towards the end when I was about to leave I got a bit nervous though and ran out of things to say to him and them (I had just met them right) and I didn't want to come on to strong with all of his friends right there (most of whom were girls and his sister who was also there), so I sorta casually said my goodbyes and told him I would keep in touch. I'm really nervous though, because I'm worried the akward part towards the end might have ruined my chances, so I'm wondering how you would proceed?

3 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender9 years agowhy are unions bad for the economy?
First of all union workers not only have significantly better pay, benefits and pensions than non-unionized workers as consistentally shown by the US department of labours statistics, but also provide workers with representation in the workplace and a way to handle grievences against the company. I'm not saying that their aren't lazy people who use the union to prevent them from being fired, however to say there are no lazy bums who work in non-unionized workplaces would be an even greater fallacy and the fact remains that the union also goes to bat for people who have ligitamate workplace complaints. The other main arguement that I've heard is that unions destroy companies and lead them into bankruptcy but if this were true companies like AT&T, Boeing, Nestle, Kraft, Aramark, Waste Management, UPS, Kaisser Permanante, IKEA etc would not be nearly as successful and compeditive in the marketplace as they are.
11 AnswersPolitics9 years agoWhat does mitt romney stand for?
Honestly I don't know what he believes anymore, I mean hes changed his views on so many issues in the last 2-3 years that I don't know what ideas are actually his and which are scripted to flow with the social conservative retoric. Below are some good quotes..
1. "I'm not trying to return to Reagan/Bush..."
2. "Americas just another nation with a flag"
3. "I don't want special interest groups making this their campaign...That's not going to make me the hero of the NRA (National Rifle Association)" (1994)
4."I believe that abortion should be safe and legal in this country"
5."Will I preserve and protect a women's right to choose? I make an unaquivical yes"
to name a few....
14 AnswersElections9 years agowhy would Japanese/South Korean auto companies close US plants if they join te UAW?
The most common arguement I've heard particularly from conservatives and the mass media is that the Japanese/Korean automakers are strongly anti-union and thus would close the plant to avoid paying higher wages and highering fewer temps etc. However this is simply not true Toyota, Honda, Hyundai and Nissan assembly plants are all unionized in their domestic markets, yet they still continue to manufacture vehicles there. Also strangely enough those unions tend to be far more radical than the UAW, for example it is not uncommon for south korean autoworkers at Hyundai/Kia to go on strike at least once every year and their most recent contractual demand is that Hyundai handover 30% of its profits in the way of bonusses for their south korean workers. Looks like autoworkers specifically in the south are simply drinking the cool-aid and simply following the lies being perpetuated by the likes of FOX news. So my question stands and bollow are links supporting what I have just said. If you want more simply google some key words.

2 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender9 years agoDo you have to be 19 to return beer bottle empties in Ontario?
So anyway I've made good money over the years finding bottles in local parks and taking them out of poeples recycling on garbage day etc. Thing is up until now my parents have always come with me to return them, so am I allowed to return them myself? I don't intend to buy any booze, just make a couple of bucks and leave.
9 AnswersOther - Canada9 years agoIs this guy bi and how should I proceed? (Hes curently with a women)?
ok so some background information theirs this really cute guy who goes to my school and were both in grade 12 and I also happen to be androgynous/trans. For awhile now I've had a feeling he was at least bi because I've caught him checking out other guys and though it may not be politically correct he just doesn't seem straight. More recently (since around december) hes goten really "smilely and happy" whenever hes around me and he always says hi to me even though we've never really talked much, but recently my group of friends has started intermingling with his so we have had some contact. Anyway so fast forward too prom/after prom two days ago, he came over to me at prom and complimented me on my dress and seemed really happy around me, then later at after prom I noticed he was checking out other guys and me. Now I know what your thinking no we didn't hook up or anything like that, I really wanted to but I didn't think he would have been comfortable with so many people including his friends around. So once I got home at 3 a.m drunk me decided to message him on fb and just ask if he was bi, he responded at around 12 noon yesterday that he thought he might be, but wasn't sure ( he admitted to checking out guys though). So essentially how should I approach this going forward, I don't want to come on to strong or anything, but at the same time I have to make an impression quickly as I think he's leaving for university in August. Also as I said I'm pretty sure hes got a girlfriend and I sorta don't know whether I should still go for it or not (I would probably get him or wait for him to break up with her before actually doing anything).

2 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender9 years agowhy do people get so worked about steriotypical jokes about LGBT people?
This isn't limited to just the LGBT community, but honestly people need to lighten up a bit for example why do some people specifically GLAAD get so worked up about some family guy/American Dad episodes or more recently 30 Rock making fun of the response to Tracy Morgan's comedy routine, it doesn't really re-enforce steriotypes about us as a community in fact it makes fun of how silly these steriotypes really are in reality. Honestly I'm pretty sure to GLAAD even Shakespeare's twelfth night is transaphobic in some way.
3 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender9 years agoDo you think this is a good name for an androgynous person?
Since your all thinking about baby names I was wondering the name my parents gave me at birth was Robert, but I don't feel it lines up with my real gender identity and I'm thinking of possibly changing it to Robyn since it sounds similar to Robert, It's unisex and I like the sound of it. what do you guys think I'm curious?

3 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender9 years agoWhat are you views on a Trangender rights bill?
In Canada a Bill was introduced in the house originally reffered to as BIll C-389 but after the fall of the government last year and the election it had to be re-introduced this year as Bill C-279. Basically what the Bill would do is expand the protections under the Canadian Human Rights Act to incude Gender expression, which the Bills author defines as "an individual's outward expression of their inward sense of gender as communicated to others." As a transgender male (not transexual) I feel like its important for transgender people to have equal protection under the law and to be able to express themselves without fear of persecution or discrimination. Now I know that passing laws only goes so far in establishing equality, but to me this Bill would provide some legal recourse for trans people who often face discrimination in the workplace (40% of trans people are unemployed) and in soceity as a whole. I'm wondering what you guys think and please don't base your whole arguement on the bible. As the bible has the dubious distinction of claiming to be the word of god yet endorsing the stoning of women who aren't virings on their wedding day and allowing parents to kill their children for disobediance. A real all knowing/loving god would never endorse either of these practises.
