If I purchase/register a domain name, I can use that as my website name and can it be considered plagiarism?
So a few months back I tried to contact someone who ran a forum on a free hosting (proboards) to see if I could take over the name. The person on the forum was no longer active (had not logged on since June 2016) and made some posts that indicated they would be gone indefinitely.
I got no answer from them. I looked it up and the domain name was available for sale (.com and .org and all of them) so I purchased and registered the name. I created a forum and a website using the domain i registered as the titles and etc.
Fast forward to today I had some people threatening me and saying I plagiarized. I explained I could not get ahold of the person who made the old forum and the domain was available for purchase but of course they don’t believe me and are saying I stole it and blah blah.
Anyways I doubt they will do any legal action as I’m not making money off this name and it’s for a computer game so I’m pretty sure they’re just kids (and is someone really gonna go through money/trouble to sue over that)
But I’m just curious if anyone is familiar with plagiarism and if I purchased/registered the domain name can I use that as my website/forum name?
I am not using their logos and none of their pictures or stuff like that.
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics3 years agoHelp with hair color!?
So last November (2011), I colored my hair from bright blonde to this gorgeous auburn (a semi permanent color, level 2, I had checked)
Well now its almost a year, and my hair is still a light brown (its washing out very very slowly)
I was thinking of buying a blonde hair color from the store (I don't want to strip it)
Do you think that will work?
Is there anything I can do to avoid the salon (I have no money)
Any answers are greatly appreciated.
5 AnswersHair9 years agoSemi permanent color won't wash out?
In September of 2011 I colored my bright blonde hair black. After a couple p months it slowly faded to a coco brown (my hair always takes longer than 30 days to wash out)... Well I finally got sick of the brown, got hair color stripper and I stripped it in November. It turned into a horrible orange so the next day I went to the store and bought a very nice auburn. At first it was washing out pretty quickly then it seemed to stop. I started washing my hair more and it started to fade again but it has stopped fading. We're almost in July now and my hair is still a brown with a hint of red (7 months)... should probably just go to a stylist but I was hoping to avoid the fee, anyone have suggestions to help fade it faster? Or am I screwed.
2 AnswersHair9 years agoWe Are Being Sued For A Loan We Didnt Receive?
My boyfriend has gotten 2 phone calls from a guy saying he was a detective. He said my boyfriend was a suspect in an investigation about us not paying a loan. We've never taken a loan out on our own. His parents co-sign on our loans. It sounds real but fake at the same time. We live in california and he said he was from the department of investigation. Everyone who answered the phone had an accent (sounded like they were from India) so why would the department there be calling us. They had our info but I'm wondering if it was just a scam because he kept telling us we could pay 600 outside of court or 6000 if we take it to court. So we told him we werent going to talk to him until we get a lawyer but I dont know what to think or do...
