Upward Bound Precalc Tutor

I'm a math instructor during the summer months for Upward Bound and a tutor and former substitute teacher for an Urban school district. I love algebra and precalculus and try to find ways to help students become excellent. I love to see urban students gain a love for math ideas and concepts. When possible,I love to see these students outperform many of their suburban and international counterparts. Upward Bound is one of the federally funded trio programs and students in Upward Bound strive to complete high school with excellence, enter a four year college or university and graduate. Many go to graduate school. Our students are from financially disadvantaged backgrounds and most are members of underrepresented minority groups, usually African American in our part of the country but also include Latino, Appalachian and others. My own background includes a B.A. in Economics, an MBA, and 200+ grad quarter hours in math, stats and economics. I'm also a bike rider
