  • do i have a faulty carburetor choke?

I just bought a 600 cfm carb for my chevy 350, with electric choke. the motor is stock. it starts fine and warms up good, but when i put her in gear, D or R, she stalls out, then wont start again. i open the hood and have my brother try to start it up and the choke plate does not open, i am wondering it the choke plate closes while in gear and causes the motor to stall. any ideas? how to fix if the choke is the problem, any other ideas on what it might be?

  • 1970 el camino RMP problem...?

My 1970 elky runs strong, idles good(in Park), seems "healthy" overall..

But I have one problem with it... When I shift from Park to Drive the rpm drops a bit, but I guess thats supposed to hapen.

But if im stopped at a red light too long, or stopped while in Drive, the engine starts to sound choppy, kinda like I had I huge cam in it, so i have to shift in to Neutral or Park...

but to day she shut-off on me at a red light...

  • WHY DOES MY CAR LACK STOPPING POWER?

My 70 el camino(disc/drum), doesnt have the braking power I think it should have. now, I know I can expect her to stop like a new corvette or anything, But this is my third el camino, after a 66 and a 72 (which both stopped exeptionally better them my 70), and I cant seem to get to the botttom of my baking problem.

Master cylinder and booster are fairly new and in good working condition. I thought I had A vacuum problem, but after a few vaccum tests i found that was not the problem.(and I dont have a crazy lopely cam that would rob vacuum. I had the system bled, the rear brakes adjusted and NOTHING! STILL NOT VERY MUCH BRAKING POWER...

I notice a slight spongy pedal, and some play in my brake pedal
